Perhaps you should try more threads about protests then. Start with a thread "Should we march in protest if we lose to Aston Villa?"

Or, rather, have a general thread "Should we march in protest if we don't win in the next match?" (or "Beware of the LTLF's wrath") and pin it at the top of the threads.
Should we consider a protest if we stay up?

Not one person has voted yes in the poll.

I am disappointed about this. Not because I want the owner out . . . . but I thought there were more rebels here.

Well, f*ck you! F*ck all of you! Poor old Carlton Cosmo probably feels embarrassed and a bit upset with all the nastiness he's/she's being subjected to so, in a show of solidarity with him/her - whilst also shaking my head disapprovingly - and to take a stand against bullying . . . . .

Don't want to over do it. It can be reserved for critical matters.

Be awesome to hear some chants for the big man during the up & coming games now.

He's listened, he's respected us, and he deserves a lot of praise for that.

Evangelos Marinakis DOES keep tabs on these threads. My work here is done

A few nasty comments doesn't bother me, we're all red dogs here and got a few laughs out of it. Remember, I never actually voted out, I was just merely asking a question.

Getting away with a LOT, mostly because of our traumatic history with previous owner situations IMO.

We've developed a high tolerance for bad ownership because of what's happened ever since Clough left the fold. Marinakis appears to be milking that.

We shouldn't bite the hand that feeds us, but we shouldn't stay silent either. And the Greeks seem so oblivious to the fans now that only a good slap of an action will get them listening to us.

I love my dog, but when he'd shit on the carpet as a pub he got a smacked arse to know not to do it again, a treat when he went outside. Similarly, Marinakis and his cohorts need their disconnected egos knocking down a peg or two and grounding IMO.

Anybody wanting to buy a football club in this day and age is either batshit crazy or so rich they can afford to bankroll 'slot machine' businesses. We probably have someone inbetween. Marinakis is not above criticism but the net impact of his tenure as owner is over-whelmingly good. Nobody knows what'll happen this season, whether we're in the Premier League again next year or not. But if we're not - we have a talented and young squad that could be sold (I hope we don't come to this) for a huge sum of money that would see us financially secure. We have a core of a good squad that, if we go up, we should be in a position to kick on next year. Our transfer policy since being promoted has a few outliers but has, on the whole, been very good. Sangare is the big outlier here, but perhaps it's too early to write him off. The FFP penalty in hindsight could have been avoided. No Shelvey, get a sponsor etc but, these are immaterial sums of money for a top flight club. The real issue is we dared to show ambition and assemble a playing squad that could hold its own, all backed by Marinakis. Naturally, there's some waste in that. But if you look at the money we've wasted on players, missing a sponsorship I'd wager it's one of the lowest wastage rates in the division. Staying up next season, if the Premier League want to hit us with another bullying points deduction, so be it. We'll be in a better shape than Leeds, Leicester, Brentford or whoever comes up. We don't need to spend heavily again in the Summer - we have the core of a good team. No owner is perfect, we have to take the rough with the smooth. Any anti - Marinakis protest, however peaceful, is every bit as moronic and ungrateful as the anti Doughty protests that took place.

I'm no apologist for the owners Alf, but as a fanbase, the quarter-of-a-century-or-so that we've been away from the top-table left us pretty oblivious, ignorant even, of the realities of operating at the highest domestic level of modern football. The warning signs of the vast gulf between the EFL and the EPL have been evident for long enough from the sidelines, and we look enviously at clubs who managed to achieve and retain that status whilst we were scratching around in the Championship - and lower - and those that didn't and have since paid a heavy price for it - Wigan, Hull, Portsmouth, Cardiff, Swansea, Huddersfield et al.

I've absolutely no idea how the right balance is achieved, but I'm interested to know the model of ownership that the good folk on here prefer to see as an alternative to the current one under Marinakis?

I'd start with any model that includes an owner who employs people that have a close enough on the accounts to not breach FFP, knows how many loans we have and are allowed before loaning out Jonjo Shelvey, don't hike prices and then tweet tone deaf nonsense at 10pm and doesn't turnover recruitment staff faster than I change my pants.

A bit of fan connection and common sense would be a nice start Otis. I don't think that's much to ask, but our current regime aren't displaying that.

Hiking prices for staying up? Fair enough.

Doing that then sacking a manager who fans have a connection to, but who also never once had the club in the relegation zone? Bad move, but acceptable if we get better. We didn't.

But then hiking prices up even further despite going against the wishes of the majority for a season, with no improvement in sight? Whist breeching FFP/PSR in the process and pushing us towards a good possibility of Championship football? That's just bad.

And to then try and weaponize fans via Tweets is downright awful.

I think the only way we can get a good balance with these owners is to speak their language, and by that I mean kicking a stink up to the point they actually listen.

All of that goes without saying, obviously. Maybe I should have framed my question differently.

Sorry. I was being a dick.

I'm just increasingly furious with the shower of shit running the club.
Maybe the fans should have a „dicks out“ protest?

That would focus attention, I suspect?
