    Default RIP John Sillett.

Former Coventry City manager John Sillett has sadly passed away aged 85.

I myself had met John on several occasions and he was a friend of the family. He was a true gentleman and a very nice person.

    Rest in peace John.

I remember that final well. I was laughing my bollocks off when that Mabbutt own goal went in!

    RIP John

What I find very sad is that there has been no mention of John's passing on Sky Sports.

Plenty about Ray Kennedy. RIP Ray.

A likeable character that made Coventry City interesting for a short while.

They were at Chelsea at the same time as Jimmy Greaves, with whom John became a life-long friend.

Evidently, it was Greavsie who affectionately christened him Schnoz.

It's shameful that his passing is barely acknowledged in the media.

    RIP

Now you have linked the dots for me Otis. That is exactly why I was reading about the sillet brothers. Pete was pictured with Greavsie and I knew the surname as I knew John as a manager and wondered if they were related.
