    Default The Away End.

Big club or little club? I usually decide by the away following.

    .........

2,000 Sunderland at Gillingham last week.

At least they can reduce their carbon footprint by only using 1 coach.

They could reduce it even further by returning to where they belong(League 2),thereby selling less meat pies and
hot dogs when they average 3,000/4,000 as all
their 'Johnny come lately' fans inevitably bugger off.

Coach? You’d get them all in the back of the same Transit van!

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

Decent effort by the Imps there.

30/09/2021: It's only 8 points to the play-offs. Doesn't matter if we're 20th having lost three times as many games as we've won so far. I fancy us now that Hughton's gone.

No but it is at Derby.

Or at least, that's what their annual reports say their fans have paid.

It is, but up until about 5 years ago they were only getting that at home. Massive Johnny come lately club Lincoln.

It's relative isn't it? They're enjoying s bit of success so it's no surprise they're seeing an increase in fans.

When Forest were in league one our attendance high home and away dwindled, we lost a good 20% of our fans. Yeah we typically have a decent away following but I do wonder if it's because folk from Notts can be quite dispersed in where they end up for work with Manchester, Birmingham, Sheffield, Leeds, London all within reasonable distance. So unless we're playing Plymouth or Carlisle we should represent pretty well.

Wrexham had 917 out of a crowd of 2237 at Barnet, though I seriously doubt that there was 1,300 Barnet supporters there. i presume they've included around 500 Season ticket holders who didn't attend.

Not only that but every club is or should be actively targeting getting more people in the ground. Whether that's winning more, promotion or just offering a decent cup of coffee. It all adds up.

I think Lincoln were getting 2000 home crowds at one point. Now it is 10k sellouts every week. There is a natural upsurge and a Johnny come lately effect.

Grimsby take some really good away crowds in National league. 1300 to altrincham the other week on a wet Tuesday night on an open terrace. I doubt even we would take that.
