maybe look at the bigger context of it? but yep all good, hehehe look at the funny man with pubes stuck to his face.

You sound ignorant and I'm pretty sure you're not.

I think Grabban is a unique outlier and should be championed.I'm proud of his magnificent shitty beard and that we have him on our books.

We have had incidents on this very forum before (unfortunately) of posters making generic anti-Muslim remarks, and some aimed specifically at Lewis Grabban.

You will understand that as moderators, any such offensive content is rather frowned upon and does not reflect well on us as a community. And where we see it, we will deal with by removing the offending posts.

That said, there are very few incidents like this (which is a good thing).

And this would be the same for similar content directed at Christians, Jews, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Rastafarians, Satanists, or any other religion that I may have forgotten, even Pastafarians (may we all be touched by his noodly appendage).

The original post was reported by other users as well, and we looked at it and itís either 1) an incredibly crass attempt at a poorly-executed joke, or 2) specifically offensive at LewsŪs Grabban because of his faith.

I will leave it for public opinion to decide, but for me, I hope itís 1).

(Oh and Youíre not allowed to wear a hat to play football in, either. Thatís why Petr Cech had to get permission to wear the rugby-style headguard after his skull fracture).
I know all that, but itís a bit of an overreaction. The original poster didnít say anything against his religion or his reasons for growing a beard and I thought the reaction to call him a twat or whatever it was, was over the top.

His beard is terrible. Itís patchy and scatty. Moeen Aliís beard (grown for same reasons) is glorious. Simple as that really. It wasnít an Islamophobic comment, if anything it was a pogonophobic comment.

Anyway I couldnít care less about why he has a beard or how good it is. I just thought attacking the original bloke for pointing out it does look shit was over the top. Maybe just delete that comment and then all subsequent comments about beards because Iím sure nobody gives a fuck

I get your point, I really do.

But the comment could have been construed as a slight against LewisĎ religion, and indeed, some others saw it as that (which is why it got reported) so even though you, personally, didnít see it that way, others did?

    (If that makes sense?)

Anyway, itís done with, and I suggest we leave it at that.

ĄI believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialismď

ĄDon't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.Ē

"Evil" people you can trust. They may be ****s, but you know where you stand with a ****.

It's the righteous ones which always worry me. There blinkered championing of anything which "God says" is worse than the laughable championing of Vretzos & Modestedo in recent years.

Ignore reason and logic, in fact persecute it if you can, create a false reality based on fairy tales and then tell everyone else they're mad for not believing in said fairy tales

Get wasted. Rock hard. Fuck harder. Hail Satan. Whether he exists or not is irrelevant, all that matters is the indulgence of instinct

Yeah I really donít care about Lewis Grabbanís beard (or anyone elseís) enough to carry this on any further. Delete the comments if it carries on

I'm not a Christian but I do find things like murder, rape, abuse, torture, slavery, cruelty, or say, ripping people off financially in order to indulge my instincts immoral.

Satanists seem like angry, sulky adolescents who never learned how to be adults. Even the fact that their narcissistic 'religion' is meant to be the opposite of Christianity gives the game away. It's teenage rebellion more than anything with any originality or substance.

THE TRUTH IS THERE AND WITH IT I GO TO THE END OF THE WORLD .

Being serious I think a grounded balance in the middle is always best. All religion is bollock IMO, but we all have our own beliefs.

I would like to read the Satanic bible though just out of interest of it's philosophies, and how many times Billy gets a mention

If you really analyse it, most religion has been used over time as an attempt to impose a moral code on the immoral - through fear of what would happen to them if they don't follow the code.

It's why I have no need for religion.

Sure, and I include 'atheist' political religions in that too.

Except we live in a culturally Christian culture. Our moral framework is Christian. We didn't suddenly land in a vacuum. For instance, Romans would have shrugged their shoulders at the Satanist bible. To them that's how life was. Their religions tended to be based more on power and strength rather than compassion and love.

Lewis Grabban, Satanism, ZZ Top and Roman rule all in the space of a few posts in a Matchday thread.

And yes, I have just finished: Dominion - the making of the Western mind by Tom Holland, for anyone who's wondering. Highly recommended.

True but in fairness a fair amount of it shows what you need to be a decent person as well. If you look at something like for example the 10 commandments (in Exodus) then I wouldn't have said much of it was forcing a moral code on people. Things like having respect for others, not stealing, not killing, are fundamentals really.

Guess if you also look at things like Halal and Kosher (which stem basically from the laws Moses gave in Leviticus) then actually a fair amount of that was avoiding stuff which would make you ill (but perhaps not now as we're more aware of parasites and stuff) and presumably people would listen more if it was claimed to come from God as opposed to say Boris Johnson, as the society was much less secular then.

I can't think of too much which actually doesn't fall into that, apart from when you disappear down the rabbit hole of priests/rabbis etc interpreting the scripture to suit themselves.

I wasn't necessarily referencing the original teachings or books of any particular religion - rather the way that subsequent leaders of that religion choose to interpret and use the teachings. (Hence 'used' not 'designed'.)

"Oh, you're starving to death? That's fine, you'll go to heaven - but if you steal that apple to survive, you will burn in hell"...etc...
