I've just seen he has been linked with Brentford, Southampton & West Ham.

I bet plenty scouts would have been at the Hull & Posh game last night. Some very interesting young talent in both squads. Plus there is a good chance both could go down.

We have scouted him extensively, he's high on our list of left backs, his contract ends in December, and his club worry that we've already agreed terms with him.

Not lightning fast, but a very tidy player:

Incidently, Bodø/Glimt are currently thrashing Mourinho's Roma 4-1 in the Conference League. Their market value is about 30 times less than Roma.

6-1 now. Would love Patrick Berg if we're casting eyes in their direction.

He’s way past our pay grade at this point.

Why? He’s got just over 12 months on his deal, was linked with the Old Firm for as little as £1.2m in the summer and we could quadruple his wages without thinking twice.

If Zinckernagel can record 40 odd goal contributions in a season for Bodo/Glimt and end up at Championship Watford on a free, why couldn’t we take this lad (if we wanted to)?

Wait no shot is his worth that little

Derisory attempt or were they close? I honestly thought he’d be worth a lot more. He’s their captain I think?

I don’t know what fee it would take, as obviously that was just paper talk, but like I said, 12 months left on his deal. Apart from John Obi Mikel, the record sale for a central midfielder from Norway is like 3.5m gbp…

So if we had to say most important additions were it would probably be.

    1. LWB
    2. RWB (much depends on Drager/Richardson)
    3. FWD/CF (If Taylor steps up it turns from most important too 3rd most)
    4. LCB (We probably can afford to be patient)

Long-term we probably scouting for potential CB, Spence, Lowe, Garner, Johnson, Zinckernagel & Grabban replacements.

I’d be quite happy to purchase the loan players (Osei-Tutu aside) then repeat the trick in the loan market next summer, to be honest.

Will be interesting to see if we go back for any previous targets though. Cannon, Buchanan, Suzuki, Maja spring to mind.

Don't think there's any chance with Maja, he's not even made the bench for Bordeaux since the transfer talk when he apparently failed medicals with either/and us and Blackburn, so he might be totally crocked.

Must be bad for a back injury to keep him out that long

Could have been a maja problem had we signed him.

I was listening to a podcast that had a bit related to medicals the other day.

You don't really fail a medical because you are injured. You can sign a player with a broken leg if you want. It is normally if they find an issue that will result in further or repetitive injuries. All medicals are is risk assessments, if you are spending X amount of a player, the medical team give you a risk assessment on the likeliness of injury or any underlying problems.

It is likely Maja had an underlying problem so it is not worth the risk for the club.

We seemed to miss out on lots of our wing back targets all summer, where it felt like Lowe & Spence were last minute safe hands even though they have worked out really well. Wouldn't be surprised if a few of the names turn up again.

The Greek press again talks about our interest in Bodø/Glimt's Bjorkan. Celtic and a couple of Turkish clubs are apparently also very interested.

There's a Portugueuse website specializing in Scandinavian football; earlier this year they raved about young Bjorkan: https://www.malmagazine.pt/2021/02/fredrik-bjrkan.html

    Extremely predictable this one…

Rhian Brewster been linked with us across loads of platforms and podcasts. The Steve Cooper link and the fact he’s living a nightmare at Bramall Lane.

I would like to see him here on loan, I think he would be good for us and I think Sheffield United would like him gone and I think he might fancy it.

Could be a completely pointless loan though - unless Forest can use him to make a push for the playoffs and aim to get promoted. Otherwise we’d just have a really good young player for 6-months with zero prospect of him staying after the summer.

What did he cost? Something like £24m?

Something like that, well in excess of £20m anyway, with Sheff U blowing their Premier League money on him.

He’s been a complete bust though, an abject failure.

It would be a massive gamble financially as well, because he would be on a fairly large wage too, I would expect.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”
