However, changing it to 3 means we would have have to wear the 2nd kit (navy) or 3rd kit (dayglo) shorts, which would've looked ridiculous. So presumably that's why they went with the 3rd kit, which I do think is horrific anyway. If the EFL are sticking by this rule next season, it might be an idea to make sure one of the away kits has black or red shorts in future.
Red, navy, red is very york city. Why not though hey?

    Interesting. Didn't know that.

While I get that socks clashes need to be avoided (so the ref can work out who tripped who etc), I don't get shorts clashes.
I don't believe that anyone would have found it hard to identify the players if Forest wore red/white/red yesterday.

Wednesday was much worse in terms of clashes.

I agree we should wear red away unless it clashes - Though I actually like the yellow/orange kit, the pink/blue one less so.

Nah sod that we should have 46 different kits, one for each game of the season, special "half-and-half" kits in the cup, and only wear the Garibaldi in the last game IF we happen to be playing at home

In all seriousness, we should wear red unless it clashes with the home shirt. I don't give a shit what colour their shorts are.

I am watching St. Pauli against Ingolstadt, and the Home side - whose home Kit is all-brown, are playing in their all-grey away kit.

Ingolstadt play in all-blue, with dark blue sleeves.

    No, I donít know either.

I like the dayglo uniform, actually. Think the shorts could be done a little differently but I think the design is interesting as a third.

    I like the kit.

It reminds me of our best period in the late 70s when orange, yellow, lime green and pink neon socks were all the rage.

I agree though that we should be wearing red when there is no clash.

I hate the third kit, you look like your on site with the lads not playing football. Red shirt white shorts at home, all red if needed away. The actual away kit can be yellow and blue.

    Job done.

    Garibaldi Red for me.

Away kit when necessary, 3rd kit is a money spinner the club does for young 'uns.

Isn't there a rule that if a club sells a replica kit it has to be worn in competitive matches a set number of times in a season? If I recall correctly when we started doing a third kit they used to say it was "guaranteed to worn in "X" number of matches". I think that is why we played in it this time.

The away kit would never be able to be white again if we did this due to the likelihood of us coming playing a team in red and white.

We'd still have won the game if we played in Red which we could've done as it doesn’t clash with Blue & White

100% red home kit with white shorts red socks and white away kit red shorts white socks would do me just fine no idea why they mess around with colours so much.

    Itís all about the money.

This is one of the things that annoys me about modern football. Forest should play in our colours unless thereís a clash, which there wasnít at the weekend. Iím also sick of seeing away clubs come to the CG wearing black/lime green/grey kits etc when their colours are blue.

I preferred the days when clubs had their own distinctive colours, but if anything they will be looking for more commercial opportunities rather than fewer, so donít rule out a proliferation of kit colours.

I also preferred the days when clubs were distinguishable on the pitch by their club badge. These days theyíre distinguishable by their sponsors.

    Itís all about the money.

THE TRUTH IS THERE AND WITH IT I GO TO THE END OF THE WORLD .

I wonder if there's some middle round to be found using these kits only in cup competitions or something?

I really can't find any reason - other than money as Ravi rightly says - why that lumo kit should have been worn Sat.

It wouldn't grate so much if the smart blue away training kit was nowhere to be found, but it ain't. I like to look a clown on-stage, but when I'm chillin' at om I don't want to burn our gerts theyborlz out every time she pervs at me.

We would have had to wear either the navy blue or bright yellow shorts with it and there would have been folk kicking off about that too

There was a clash. Huddersfield wear white shorts. We either had to wear our away blue or yellow shorts with the red kit or just wear the full away kit. I don't know what people don't understand about that.

So we couldn't play in white shorts the same as Hudds (understandable, and the rules might say our blue/pink kit clashes with their blue one as well).

But who allowed Boro to play in that muddy dark green shirt on Weds. It was almost impossible to pick out the players by shirt colours, and there must be some players with defective colour vision as well.

We wore the white 'Home Ales' and 'Shippo's' shirts, wasn't a problem. Forest wore white away shirts in the 1960s too.
