He recognises what's required and is trying hard to change things, more than anyone else has in the last 20 years.
It's a process that can't be fully implemented in months, let alone weeks Bryan.

It's manifestly obvious that any evidence of his efforts is unlikely to be seen for another couple of windows at the earliest, when a head-coach of his choice has been in place long enough to implement Murphy's ethos.

Hughton was supposed to keep things ticking-over until next summer during the transition.

The owner has thankfully recognised that a fundamental change is required to the way the football side of the club operates; Murphy's simple brief is to implement that change.

He's barely two months into a massive job. Where's the bullshit?

I noted that Chris Wilders comments recently echoed those of Dane Murphy. Talking about his next job being a club that is pulling together in one direction. Exactly what Dane said when he landed here. Coincidence?

Wilder, "There have been a couple of opportunities. It has to be right for me. The next job is a really important one because I’m getting judged off the back of a relegation and I’ve not enjoyed that.
I didn’t like it, I’ve owed it but I want to move on and be part of a club that’s inclusive, that’s going in the right direction, that’s together and that wants to go and achieve.”

Dane, "There isn't a perfect solution or formula, but I believe that if there's a true north that everyone can work together towards, from the sporting side, through the front office and everyone involved in the club, unity and a goal really drives a club."

Only one thing to add to Danes' philosophy, "We need to stop signing shit players".

Bullshit as in whatever fairy story was told to CH to entice him to take the managers job here. Bullshit as in the absolute tripe Randall came out with when they first rocked up.

Other than paying the milkman on time, I'm not sure this lot are much better than Fawaz. The proof will be in the pudding and I hope they manage to turn this season around, but I can't image Dane ever expected to be in this position at this point in the season.

None of us would, in which case the manager should be doing far, far better than he is. That doesn't alter the fact that Murphy didn't take the job with his eyes closed. He would have done his own due-diligence and seen that the wage-bill and the average-age needed lowering significantly in order for him to impose his blueprint, and would rightfully have expected better from Hughton in the meantime.

Same old, same old...the more things change, the more they stay the same.
Every key person at the club is pulling in different directions.

Hang on a sec, I'm sure I've got one more in my bag of worn-out clichés.

Indeed. You don't find yourself in the car crash situation Forest are in without fuck ups occurred throughout the organisation.

    Is it CHs fault? No
Is it the boards fault? No
Is it the players fault? No

Is it all their faults? Yes, absolutely.

Please don't think that I don't share your frustrations mate, because I do.

In hindsight, this radical change in direction should have begun at least three years ago, when it became clearly apparent that this is a fucking brutal league to get out of in the traditional way without parachute-club-like resources, but it appears that the owner has at least now seen-the-light.

The problem is, the ideal time to have started implementing it was immediately following the final game of last season, but unfortunately with Murphy still under contract at Barnsley until only a couple of weeks before the start of this one that wasn't to be the case. Otherwise a new manager/head-coach could have replaced CH at that point and had a few weeks to prepare whilst then having the pre-season period with those remaining from last year's squad and new recruits who fit Murphy's player-profile.

We've now got to hope that Hughton can spark a sudden turn-around or, failing that, bring-in a firefighter to ensure that the new blueprint comes into operation with us still in this league.

To be fair mate he's only been here a few months. The changes needed at this club are so colossal he's probably barely even scratched the surface.
