I've got a feelijng that he might be a replacement for Garner - give him a year to get acclimatized and, in the meantime, use him sparingly. Don't think he matches up to Yates in terms of aerial ability, but looks very strong in possession.

I think the three of them might be complimentary. Think Garner might have a bit more technique about him but Briaiaiain might be more box to box, driving type. Not bad having all three for now but we're never getting Garner after this season so you might be right.

Much in favour of the approach, it clearly works.
I don't think even they have dipped into the South American market yet.

Nice to see us dipping our toes in the waters before others, hopefully we continue looking at it. There is always talent in that region previously off limits to the UK.

You think we had an influence on that?

Idk if it’s an important time during the callups in our region so you’d have to help me with that.

It wouldn't surprise me if we did have some say in it.
It's a fairly important time for Paraguay because CONMEBOL is at the halfway stage of qualifying and they are 2 points out of the qualification places. They will have access to some foreign-based players like Almiron that they didn't have for the last international break.

He was at the game yesterday so he should be okay to feature going forward.

It was probably agreed with country/club/player that it would make no sense calling him up so soon, he will need to get some momentum here - another quarantine would be daft.

I can't think of Paraguay without thinking of Jose Luis Chilavert. Now he was a character.

Not playing at club level, he's probably shot himself in the foot as far as a call up goes. Plus, there is some quality competition for places in that national side.

We need him acclimatised before Christmas because if media reports are correct ManUre have a January recall clause in the Garner loan deal...

That was (as has been mentioned) Higuita of Colombia.

Chilavert was the mad keeper from their WC98 squad who used to take free kicks and penalties (and was pretty good at it).

8 goals in 74 international matches, pretty good for a goalkeeper

I'm sure Chilavert scored more goals than ishmael Miller in his career

**Edit** Miller scored 49 Chilavert 46 at club level. So with international goals Chilavert the better goal scorer

Not surprised. He had a much better left foot than Miller and could stay fit for more than 5 minutes. What a lazy oxygen thief Miller was

And amazing for a striker playing in a Chris Hughton Nottingham Forest team.

    I didn't know about that.

Then, perhaps Garner's recent form is because he's fallen in love with Nottingham and doesn't want to be recalled to the Theatre of Dreams (tm)?
