„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

The dream of four Czech tennis woman players in the semifinals has fallen, but today's victory of Vondoušová over Osaka is a famous thing.

Thought we couldn't keep the level of performance we've had at the last three Games going forever, but perhaps we will. God bless the national lottery.

Once you're picking up multiple golds in the pool, you've cracked the Olympics with all the medals there are on offer.

Tom Dean's family's big screen video is awesome.

Only the Olympic Games can make you cheer on dancing horses.

Didn't know until I read it earlier that Craig David has traveled to the Olympics with the GB archery team. Chiefly as the bow selector.

Not sure what to make of what happened to Biles as she is now saying she is good to compete in a couple of days time.

I honestly thought she would call it quits after today given she stated she is having mental health issues.

She did mention she has had mental health issues leading up to the games and given her history and what she has been through it’s understandable.

Also her age in gymnastics terms Biles is seen as old even at 24 crazy as it sounds as a lot of her competition are 16/17 years old.

With so much pressure on her its very understandable what happened today. It’s also very hard to compete with girls that are 7/8 years younger than her.

Enjoyed Ben Whittaker's haduken celebration in the boxing this morning. I do that to the wife when I do something good in the house. She gets annoyed, says it's rude

Japanese diver has a skin condition that means he can only spend an hour a day in the water. And he's an Olympic diver. That's incredible.

The dancing horses probably not having as much fun as it initially appears if the foam coming from the mouth and sweat pouring off their bodies is anything to go by.

We appear to have stopped winning in boats. Rowing used to be a dead cert, at least one goal since 1984. No medals in a canoe. Britannia doesn't rule the waves

All good things must come to an end.

GB bronze in the shooting shit up final. How do America not have a finalist at gun tooting?

We might have had a good start to these Games, largely thanks to FINA, but we're not happy about about being below Australia in the medals table, are we? We need to keep an eye on that.

Sevens looks like it would be an annoying game to play. Seems like they don't have to do much wrong before someone is running the length of the pitch to score against your team, and there's no hope of stopping them.

Jessica Gadirova 10th in the womens all around final great effort best ever British result in an women's Olympic all-around final and her sister Jennifer 13th at just 16 years old great performances by both girls.

Love how up for competing Jennifer is as in her interview afterwards she said the following

"I'm first reserve for the floor finals, so I may be able to take a spot and if she [Simone Biles] drops out last minute I will be ready to go."
