    Default FAO Farmer Jack

Next week's Matchday Thread - be careful with the kick off time.

    https://twitter.com/EFL_Comms/status...307428355?s=19

As a mark of respect, EFL matches scheduled for 3pm on Saturday 17 April will be moved to avoid a clash with the funeral of HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. https://t.co/D29mShDGsd

By "relegation battle", do you mean 7th, 12th or 14th?

Don’t get me wrong: the Prince’s death is not only of great personal sadness for the Royal Family, but also for many of the Queen’s subjects. However, which arrogant numpty arranging the funeral decided 15:00 on a Saturday with a full programme of football, was the best time to have it?
The decision is shockingly bad, and a slap in the face for the commoners by the aristocracy.
The funeral should have been arranged for 11:00 hours.
The Royal Family can’t even get the D of E’s funeral right.
    It’s another PR disaster.

No disrespect to the man and his family, this circle jerk has gone on long enough.

    Thanks all the same, Flaggers.

I must say that I thought the same when Jeff Stelling announced the funeral timings during the afternoon football coverage.

Who thought this was a good idea? The timing just doesn't make sense either here or abroad.

It's probably to avoid clashing with the weekend polo match kick offs.

Every time I read Farmer Jack's name I have to mentally sing it to the tune of "Jimmy Mack" by Martha Reeves & the Vandellas

    Know your place commoners.

You might enjoy your footie but you will have it deliberately delayed in order to force you to fawn over the loss of an elite.

They should just move all the Sat 3pm kickoffs to Sunday 3pm instead.

At least I know what I'm going to do on Saturday now - and it isn't watching the funeral.

Yes it's prime time for the lucrative and developing Asian markets.

I listen to the radio all the time and especially 4 Extra for the comedy and documentaries but the BBC closed it down and replaced it with Radio 4. We want some light relief at the moment not more doom and gloom. Shame on you BBC

We're playing Huddersfield to see if we can keep the thirteenth place dream alive. It just won't be the same if it kicks off at a different time.

You would think it would be a lot easier to move a funeral than 40+ football matches. Still, based on the day of the death, the BBC will flood their tv and radio channels with the coverage of the funeral and you wouldn't hear a peep from the games. I hope though that the complaints that caused might get them to review their coverage strategy.

I really don’t mind any delay in kick off so that I can watch the televised events of Prince Philip’s funeral.

    It’s no hardship.

I think 'odd' is a good thing. Oddness shows originality, uniqueness and a desire to be different from the masses. Oddness is, maybe, only deemed 'odd' by the majority who are considered less odd but only by their own blinkered observations and understanding. Oddness should never be criticised but be encouraged to nurture, develop individualism and to explore the mind rather than conform to expectation and 'normality'. Many of the world's greatest works of art and prose were born from those minds many considered to be 'odd'.

Usually I avoid shopping at all costs, but it's amazing the things you crave after a year under house arrest. I think this falls on the first Saturday regular Joe Schmo shops are open, isn't it?

That hitting the high street latest big comeback is probably more unfortunate than the rescheduling of the fulfilment of Forest's div two fixture obligations.

Your palms are holding her neck and thumbs are at her ears regulating the speed of her head as she swallows and then sucks up your machinery. She is topping up your engine oil for the cross-country coming up. Your RPM is hitting a new high. To wait any longer would be to lose prime time... She picks up a Bugatti's momentum. You want her more at a Volkswagen's steady trot. Squeeze the maximum mileage out of your gallon of gas. But she's eating up the road with all cylinders blazing.

You know you don't have to listen right? You can change the channel?

Isn't Radio 4 popular for talking about news? Did it really surprise you they were talking about that? There are millions of other things you can listen to.

4 Extra is one such place that people stuck at home might be have been going for the past year to escape the daily death updates. It's a station that provides that very service of keeping people's chippers up. It's a fair argument that it was providing more of a service before it replaced its regular scheduling and replaced it with blanket coverage of somebody's death.

Thank all the Gods for Spotify, which did not feel the need to interrupt its streaming service to talk about Prince Philip.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

BT Sport are showing Wolfsburg vs Bayern Munich on Saturday afternoon if Pro Celebrity Bowing & Scraping isn’t your thing.
