Rated at 5m and whilst I've liked him for a while I don't think he is anywhere near that valuation.

Agreed, if Blackpool want £5m up front then I think that's way too big a punt for us to take. If it were more like £2.5-3m with possible add-ons to take it up towards £5m then maybe.....

    5m sounds like either:

Fuck off he’s not for sale.

    Or

3m plus Gabriel and he’s yours.

How much would we expect for a 23 goal striker, having just achieved promotion to the Championship?

    Hes easily worth that...
Hes a very good young player, with upward potential whose scored goals by the hatful in the division below us, so he ticks nearly every box. Hes also one of the only young strikers with some pedigree that looks like he can play the 9 role expected of him in a Hughton team. That and he seems to do most of it with a smile on his face.
If he's for sale (and I don't know if he is) I'd pay that for him-whats the alternative?

...And if he's for sale (and again that's a big if IMO) I'd get on with it or he will go somewhere else and we will be wringing our hands for the next 2 seasons as he bangs in goals for teams we would like to think are our peers....

Any more rumblings on Yates or has he decided to stay where he is?

Still think he would be a good punt.

If there was even the very slightest internet whisper from the vaguest of sources about him - or any other player for that matter - the Post-online would have mutiple headlines covering every conceivable angle, which is a clear indication that there aren't..

I agree Otis, was just hoping that one of you guys who combs twitter might have heard something, but I think he's staying where he is....

I think we took a look at him and then came to the conclusion that he really wasn't worth what his Club would have wanted to let him go and that he really wasn't that much better than what we already had and that we will probably be able to get better value for money elsewhere. I think we will be more likely to go for Kevin Nisbett from Hibs

Not better than what we already have.
Now where have I heard that before?
