[QUOTE=Cortez the Killer;3361543]We should sign him, then get Brereton back and play 4-4-2 just so we can say we've got Ben and Jerry up front.

Not sure we have the Cookie Dough to sign both.

Looks a good player from what I've seen of him tonight.

I am not sure if this guy is any good or not. He might be worth taking a chance on..

If I was signing him. I would take a chance on Junior Stanislas on a free transfer from Bournemouth to play alongside him. Stanislas is on a free but he is 31 so I don't think we will go for an over 30 on wages dripping down from the PL after the mistakes with Arter and Colback but if Yates is any good I think he could help Yates progress.

I recall when Paul Lambert started his career with St Mirren. His midfield partner was called Butler. So they had Lambert & Butler. So every Saturday was 20 a day

Based on the playoff final he looks a good player. Intelligent number 9 play-good runs, holds the ball up pretty well and tidy touch.
I think would improve us for sure...

Agreed. Thought him and Simms were excellent as a partnership in the SF legs too.

He’s also clearly a hard worker and a team
    Player...
Not sure what they want for him and if promotion keeps him there....

Definitely a player I'd like us to sign, but I think Blackpool's promotion probably pushes him beyond our budget now.

I wasn't as impressed with him as the TV Pundits seem to be
He looks like a League 1 striker.

I liked the look of the Blackpool No 8 Anderson. Good big strong technical player.

Truth is Noo, that’s where we’re shopping these days...

I thought he looked like he really knew how to play the 9 role. I liked his positional sense and work ethic and I though there was real quality about his decision making and passing. Downsides-he’s not fast and not much of an arial threat so doesn’t fit those moulds and of course there’s no certainty about goal output at another level up-he could turn into one of this “tidy” strikers who doesn’t score many. Who knows?id hate to be CH trying to turn water into wine up front.

Anyone know how much they want for him?

I would guess, if Blackpool want to stay in the Championship, they won't want to sell him.

    Why would they?

Agreed-any idea how long he's got left on his contract?.
Thats possibly the only way in (if he's going into his last season next year)...

When we were run by imbeciles, who also sold our captain the day before the new season started, and our best striker, err, went on strike. We played 38 year old Glyn Hodges against the champions and lost.

Ah, Summer 98. I was so full of optimism, convinced we were about to make a real impact in the top flight. I dared to dream that maybe we were going to add to our squad with one of the many stars of that World Cup, and even if we didn't I felt we had a team more than capable of a top half finish. Maybe we did, before them ***** fucked it up.

Jerry Yates sounds like a bloke who owned a chain of amusement arcades in Blackpool in the 70s, then got poached to run a casino for the Mafia in Las Vegas.

If we had kept our best players and added a couple of quality midfielders we would have been comfortably away
    from relegation.
Sadly we didn't,and haven't recovered since.

I thought he played in our midfield.
