Funnily enough,I unintentionally attended a West Ham FA Cup match in 1975.I went with my brother to London to
see the 4th Round tie at Fulham v.Forest only to find out at St.Pancras station that the game was off due to a
waterlogged pitch-so we went to West Ham v.Swindon instead. The Hammers needed a replay to see off a plucky
Swindon side(3rd Division at the time I think) before going on to beat Fulham in the final.
Incidentally,Fulham needed 4 attempts to overcome Forest in the 4th Round(0-0,1-1,1-1 and 2-1 in the days before
silly penalty shootouts).
I attended all of those Fulham games with my dad. Viv Busby was one of the stand out players for Fulham and I remember Mellor the goalie too.
I also remember the lads in the East Stand giving Mullery some stick about his missus. Mullery replied with a two fingered gesture.
On this day in 1978.
Name the ground.
Ain't that Hartlepool, Victoria Park?
Can you reverse the image before you post, it's very simple to right click and do a google image search..
Hartlepool is the coldest I’ve ever been at a football ground, wind blowing off the sea, it was fucking Baltic.
Forest won, 0-1, a Lewis McGugan Special.
„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“
„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”
