    Default Crowds to return?

Genuine question: when do you think full crowds will be back in grounds?

Let's say no vaccine and no second wave etc. When do you feasibly see a return to grounds?

I think the season will start in September with crowds, not sure it will be full capacity though

I thinknwe will see full crowds back before the end of the year. Many lower league teams won't be able to survive without the match day monies.
I fully suspect that the EFL and FA will force the matter for fans to return by saying how many clubs could go out of business.
Then when you buy a ticket you are doing so at your own risk. There will be a disclaimer on the back to say something like "The club, players, management etc cannot be held responsible for any person falling sick" etc etc.

Probably when the COVID-19 alert rating goes down to 2.

To bring thousands of people that close together just wouldn't be very smart.

There would probably need to be distancing in the seats too until the rating goes down to 1.

Until it's entirely safe, won't cause spikes in infection or put the vulnerable groups at risk you can stick.it up your arse.
I've absolutely no interest in going to a half full ground with a sterile atmosphere to watch a game of football, what do you think I am, a County fan?

300 at non-league ought to be possible if it's still a one metre rule by then.

Higher up, it might be home fans only next season. Squad rotation for season ticket holders.

I can see it affecting attendance even when allowed back. If you were of a certain age would you risk it?

If you are of any age would you risk it, admittedly I've not been in the ground in 3 years, but last time I went there was no hot water in the gents, it's always felt a comparatively dirty ground alongside Trent Bridge or even other football grounds.

Think you're right - can't see a return to full crowds next season at all, nor probably the one after.

As soon as there is a vaccine I can see things returning to normal quite quickly

It's a good test of the sense of the governing authorities.

If they've any real sense and give a shit, it'll be sometime in 2021 at the earliest, when a vaccine is sorted & enough people are immune to prevent any further spikes.

Seeing as money rules everything though, and most of us are nothing but Matrix batteries to be drained from, so that the politicians & big wigs keep the coin coming in, they'll prob allow it back start of next season.

This is Forest. You'll get your money back in 2022 some time, when they can be bothered.

By "relegation battle", do you mean 7th, 12th or 14th?

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

Mind you, going by the cut-outs at Wednesday, one of them looked a bit ruff:

Who has the job of taking these cardboard figures inside when it rains?

If you can go in cinemas, pubs are opening and shops... etc. No reason why stadiums shouldn't open too. I imagine initially with a limited attendance.

Oly will have 20% capacity soon I think.

Let's crack on with it. Those who don't want to do it, don't have to. I'm sure plenty would.

Notwithstanding the difficulty in policing it, if wearing face-masks became mandatory for every spectator, with heavy sanctions imposed on anyone seen removing theirs without very good reason, crowds could potentially return next week. Especially as the overwhelming scientific belief is that masks prevent the wearer passing the virus on. Sitting side-by-side in the open air would also help mitigate risk.

Can you imagine though, Plod in England being happy about that?

It would be an absolute nightmare; potentially a large number of supporters, wearing masks that render them unidentifiable to CCTV?

We have temporarily contained Covid 19, it hasn't gone anywhere.

It's hard to argue with that Chris. However, if fans, desperate to get back to the normality of attending games again, were left in no doubt that it could potentially happen much sooner if face-masks are worn without any exception , as with public transport users, I suspect the vast majority would be prepared to comply. There could also possibly be an element of self-policing by the more responsible majority. Not that I expect the relevant authorities to propose or countenance such a radical move.

It seems illogical to me that you can go and drink with people in close proximity in an enclosed space in a pub, but not go and sit in close proximity to people in the open air to watch a football match
