For many years when I was much younger my Granddad gave me the same annual every year for Christmas, the Rupert Annual!

I was never lucky enough to get anything football related.

Yes, Barry Lyons scored both goals. The number 11 in the picture is Ronnie Rees, and in the background is Joe Baker and Ian St. John.

Ian Storey-Moore was obviously injured for that game, but we still put out a pretty good line-up :

Grummitt, Hindley, Winfield, Chapman, Hennessy, Newton, Lyons, Baxter, Baker, Barnwell, Rees.

    Kenny Burns 20 goals.

Stick him up front against Preston today.

That's ace. Look at all those people watching through their windows.

Used to be a window looking over the old Bridgford End, didn't there? I you liked football, what value that would add to your house.

Always thought having a house overlooking a sports ground would be great. Some of those where you can watch cricket all day would be great. Used to be flats with balconies at midwicket on Fox Road before the pirate ship stand was there.

    Absolutely.

Yes, back in the 60s,70s and early 80s, there were always a group of folk hanging out of the window over looking the Bridgford end.

Watching the best team in Europe from the bedroom window. Someone would pay a fair bit for that now.

Derby spent their centenary in division 3, so it’s fitting that England’s top goal scorer is aiming to return them to the promised land today.

    No me neither.

    Kevin Wilson.

One of those blokes who had a tache all through his twenties so he actually looked young in his forties.

I remember him well. He used to hang around in the newsagents on Midland Rd, Derby, back in the early 80s.

He f***ing hated Forest with a passion. I gave that tw@t so much stick.

I thought it was Bobby Davison at a glance but you’re right.

If I remember right Davison was their main man last time they were in the third division, I wonder if he’s still got his boots...
