The lad I roomed with in the forces was a Mackem season ticket holder, no matter where we were based, if Sunderland played on a Tuesday he'd make the trip there and back.

Looks nowt like that now, just a generic lower league ground like a lot of the others.

I miss all the old grounds with their individual character and atmosphere. The all seater and new stadiums killed football for me quite a bit.
