Whilst Smith isn't up to the job of reserve keeper, we don't need three keepers on our books

Nah, just pure speculation. The priority clearly seems to be on trim & sell, so with the Blackman link I was just thinking out loud.

I agree from a squad POV. I'd sooner Brice stay. But I guess it depends on how bad the finances are after the recent bloated windows to whether we can pick or choose.

Sammy & Ribs are two examples of players who I'd sooner we have kept, but who were discarded without a second thought. Some fans seem to be convincing themselves we're freeing room and wages up for signings to get promoted. I'm considering that we may just be looking to stay up, but claw some cash back.

    We'll see I guess.

He’s been there most of his career so I’d imagine so.

He’s not very good so I suppose he’s just grateful to keep getting paid.

Curious case of the benched goalkeeper.

Raises an interesting point, talking about these 'keepers. Never thought about it before, but some of these keepers must have made millions from the game hardly playing at all. Just training, playing the odd cup game and keeping the bench warm.

Yes its such a funny position. I feel for young keepers coming through, based on personal experience of a friend of my lads who had been at several clubs having been through the Man City academy and now at 20 has been released and has no club, effectively never having had a shot at the number 1 role (despite having had full professional contracts). Getting a chance as 1st choice keeper in a professional team is just so hard....its a lonely position and I think theres a lot more luck than people realise

Surely Smith must be OK at just sitting on the bench

Being ex-Derby might throw the cat amongst the pigeons but he certainly looks a bit special.

Wouldn't mind us looking at Folarin Balogun at Arsenal and out of the L1 guys Stephen Humphrys looks like has something about him. You feel if you give these guys the platform they can go much higher than many other CF options around.

Both strong but Balogun can bring ball-carrying qualities and creating something out of nothing through that whilst Humphrys looks like he likes to get on the ball and can strike the ball from anywhere with both feet and looks brilliant on direct free-kicks which is a threat we lack.

Delap looks like a man even at 18.

I know as well from Dan Taylor talking to the Head of the City Academy they admire the way we educate young players.

    5. James Garner/Matt O'Riley
    6. Right-back (can't decide between Ngakia, Kenny & Brandon Williams)

    Go get 'em Forest.

It does seem like the attitude is a bit dirty and then he has his follower everywhere too.

He didn't look like someone who could get out of or deal with adversity which isn't a good thing.

For what it’s worth, a local side of my acquaintance have made an enquiry about Balogun.

(At this stage, that’s all it is, but he is a player well known to Sven Mislintat).

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

Balogun looks a real prospect. I’d be delighted with him on loan.

My Arsenal nut mate says Balogun is a real prospect and very highly thought of. After the visible success of Garners loan this could be something Arsenal considered assuming that he's on Forests radar.

He just looks like a bit of an outcast, similar to when Burke left Forest in many ways.

I'm sure Arsenal will be doing what they can to help out a Spurs legend.
