    Default BUPA - Morgan Rogers

18 year old Man City youth. Looks absolutely mustard at Lincoln. Strong in the tackle and got Velcro on his boots. Plays the opposite side to Brennan.

Would like to see us pick him up on loan next season.

    Citeh.

The last two FMs I've played Morgan Rogers has terrorised me, if that means anything

Say what you like, but Piers does at least pay scant regard to the current wave of PC nonsense invading the country. If you ask a relative if young Johnny will inherit his granddads big ears it's OK, but to ask if he'll look like his grandma is beyond the pale. Why?

My brother who’s a Lincoln fan says he’s really good, but inconsistent.
Has moments of genius but has no idea about game management in tough tight games-same criticism for Brennan as well. When the experienced heads are out due to injury Lincoln, not surprisingly wobble.

Just scored a cracking goal, fine solo effort, looks a great prospect.

I watch most Lincoln games, and I don’t think he’s more inconsistent than any other 19 year old winger.

I don’t think game management has much to do with it either. They struggle cos their central midfield is the weakest area of the team - once Bridcutt/Grant are out, they’ve got no depth.

That goal today was absolutely sublime. The most impressive thing about it is that he never quite got his balance but still put the ball top corner. Mark of a quality player.

Quality footballer and if encouraged in a good Championship environment next season I think he will flourish. Wouldn't mind him on our list.

Would he take game time away from Mighten and Johnson? Hoping Mighten and Johnson both have a massive part to play next season.

It would be in addition. If we signed Rogers would definitely want to keep Grabban then if he wanted to stay.

Age isn't an issue for me. Raw ability is. Get enough of that with some experience in terms of games (ie 100+ in career) sprinkled in and we good to go.

Hopefully the club look towards young Prem loans in the future after the success of Garner, there are plenty more like him out there.

And a fair amount of Michael Stewarts and Lee Martins out there as well. When you're getting unproven kids it's a bit of a risk.

May as well never sign any player ever again on that basis then.

Would it be fair to say that in more recent times the pickings have been more and better ? Just some recent examples (getting young players from Prem teams so not including the clubs own young talent or purchased from lower leagues)

Swansea : Freddie Woodman (Newcastle), Marc Guehi (Chelsea), Conor Gallagher (Chelsea), Morgan Gibbs-White (Wolves), Rhian Brewster (Liverpool)
Derby : Mason Mount (Chelsea), Harry Wilson (Liverpool), Fikayo Tomori (Chelsea), Teden Mengi (Man Utd)
Bristol City : Jay Da Silva (Chelsea)
Wigan : Reece James (Chelsea), Joe Williams (Everton), Kieran Dowell (Everton), Antonee Robinson (Wigan)
    Norwich : Oliver Skipp (Spurs)
    Luton : Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (Leicester)
Blackburn : Jarrad Branthwaite (Everton), Taylor Harwood-Bellis (Man City), Harvey Elliott (Liverpool)
    Brentford : Josh Da Silva
    Leeds : Ben White (Brighton)
West Brom : Grady Diangana (West Ham), Harvey Barnes (Leicester)
Fulham : Matt Targett (Southampton), Harrison Reed (Southampton), Josh Onomah (Tottenham)
Aston Villa : Axel Tuanzebe (Man Utd), Timmy Abraham (Chelsea)
    Huddersfield : Emile Smith-Rowe (Arsenal)

One of our biggest failings in the transfer market in recent years is our inability to use the loan market to great effect like other clubs.

One of the names in that list, Rhian Brewster for Swansea, is a great example; propelled Swansea into the play offs last season at our expense, whilst we got Diakhaby on loan who did bugger all.

Hopefully Hughton can use his connections to get more quality young players on loan like James Garner in the summer.

I don't think he takes minutes off either. He plays on the opposite wing to Mighten, and Johnson is likely to be preferred as a CAM in our system. It could look like this:

    CAM:

    Carvalho
    Johnson

    LW:

    Ameobi
    Mighten

    RW:
    Lolley
    Rogers
