We could do with a bit of black belt style fight in the squad, and we'll be much more deadly once we've got our first Dan.

Shouldn't that be in the Bong thread?

    Nixon:

Forest. Advanced talks for Dan Gosling now. Midfielder. Liked by Hughton. Bournemouth will let go ... to create space for a serious push to land Ben Pearson from Preston.

Hopefully only a loan deal, and not another 30+ year old on a three year contract...

Likely a permanent as we've already got 5 loans in the squad. Same goes for Murray. Unless we terminate a loan.

We can have more than 5 loans at the club, but only 5 in the match day squad I think.

Given the shape Freeman is in, I don't think he should be playing for us anytime soon. So Gosling on loan could fit in there. It does look as though its going to be a permanent though, unfortunately.

Not entirely true. You can have as many loans as you like, but only 5 can be named on a match day squad.

Looks like a permanent, not a loan.

I like Gosling, he’s a good player. His injury record worries me a bit though, not going to lie....

I know he did his cruciate back in the day and I think it gave him issues for a few seasons after but that must be 8 or 9 years ago now, has he had bad injuries more recently?

Deep joy, another to add to the list: Colback, Arter etc. Bournemouth must love us.

    We need a winger.

That George Hardby needs to get validation for his lines by mentioning Alan Nixon has said it tells you everything about Harby's credential as a journalist.

IDGF if he has a press pass to the WFCG, he writes for a blogging site - he's a blogger.

I thought this is what folk wanted? An experienced championship manager with a track record of success having the absolute say on who he brings in and who he lets go.

Like any signing I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and if he's someone Hughton wants then that is great.

    It is.

Some folk are just trying to rock the fucking boat.

I think it's a good signing and what we need, if his fitness is up to it.

We're desperate for players who have the right attitude, and don't let there head drop at the first wet fart which blows over the Trent.

Might not be up to a promotion push next year, but let's stay up first. We can be pickier next time we're in a position to be.
