I think my favourite spiced rum is red leg. It's bloody lovely and very easy drinking, so is old J cherry.

Red Leg is alright, one of the better commercial rums. But I encourage anyone who likes spiced rum to buy a bottle of Rebellion.

Put Proper 12 into a decaf coffee, still got that chemically aftertaste. Wonder what it is

Just had a look online if any of the other supermarkets have decent deals on.

    Asda
    Glenlivet - £22
Bowmore 12 - £27, might have to pick one of those up myself!

    Tesco
    Nowt.

    Co-Op
Jura Journey - £22. Not as good as the 10 but still nice.

Tried to edit post, I’m only on about single malt whisky of course. Keep forgetting it’s the ‘spirit thread’!

I haven’t but I get the logic, I’ve bought deals just for the glass(es). Beam is decent imo so why not Freddie.

If you buy the Slipknot whisky can I buy a small sample from you? I’ll pay p&p etc obviously.

I don't plan on opening it I don't think you know, could go up in price because I think it's limited but I am tempted. I'll let you know if I do though, if that's okay

I’ll come down to that Arnold or wherever you are and drink the lot if you don’t

Nah, that’s cool, I get that. I’d like to know what it’s like though.

    Bestwood. I'll alert the corners

If I do open it then I'd be up for a trade if you have something you'd recommend? I've no idea how to get it to you though in truth

Buy a small bottle of whisky, the £4 size bottles of Bells or whatever, tip it down the drain lol and wash it out. Refill and post. Or use a hip flask. Id be up for a trade, all a bit dodgy with Covid though.
Jesus, what a world we are living in. Can’t even share whisky.

Makes sense. Never had Bells, not recommended?

It’s a bit rough mate to say the least. Needs a mixer or a tonne of ice to make it near palatable.

In terms of bourbon Freddie, I'd definately recommend Maker's Mark as a supermarket-priced go-to. Better still, if you have £50-55 to spare, Maker's Mark Private Select is certainly worth paying extra for in my opinion.

Even better still.....Peerless Kentucky Straight Rye (108.0 proof, 54% vol) is the best bourbon I've tasted, and highly recommended.

I've never understood the fashion to drink Jack Daniels when you have to drown it in coke to make it anything like drinkable.

Thank you Otis, it's definitely on this. I've seen a lot of good things about Maker's Mark and Buffalo Trace, will definitely move get into them as soon as possible

On the list* can't edit for some reason.

Crown Royal is available on Amazon today for £25. I was tempted but probably have too much coming now. I've seen wildly different things about it, including a video of guys trying to break to bottle but failing. Crazy.

Had a dream last night I'd bought the Balvenie Carribbean cask, had to check my emails I hadn't.

    I've gone mad.

    I blame the drink.

ĄI believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialismď

ĄDon't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.Ē
