    Default Shane Duffy

29 year old, 6'4, ROI International CB currently on loan at Celtic from Brighton.

Was tentatively linked a week or so ago but linked again from a bit of a stronger source this evening:

    https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/spo...t-losses-duffy

Article says Hughton wants him at Forest and believes he can help him find his best form again. Says we've already enquired to Brighton about taking him.

Personally don't think we need another CB unless someone is off and even then I'm not sure I'd want us to go for Shane Duffy but I suppose we can't complain if it's Hughton getting who he wants...

Got to think it would probably be Worrall who would be going if anyone. He is the only one whose value would tempt our owners into selling.

Article does also say Hughton wants to pair Duffy with McKenna.

Hopefully nothing more than lazy journalism. We are well stocked at centre back, the last position we need any additions in.

...so invariably the position we'll end up reinforcing.

I'm not in the know at all but a mate of mine sent me a link from the Swindon game last wk with player ratings..there was one guy called Zeki Fryer who's write up said his position could be under threat from a possible signing from us and it was a defender.im not really tech savvy so I don't know how put the link on here but reading that and now this makes me think there could be summat in the story.i can only guess at names so Blackett or Hefele going ?

If true can only mean that Worrall is off , We don't need another CB .
Typical Forest and more shite transfer market ramblings.

Think Fryers is a fullback isn't he? Could be Blackett I guess.

The fact that Worrall will be playing in a premier league shirt come February 1st most likely

    Worrall is finally leaving then?

I imagine he'd have been gone already if he hadn't got injured.

Is this Duffy any good? Genuinely I thought this kid was from Boyzone.

£10+ million for Worrall would generate enough cash to strengthen out wide and in the middle. Duffy would be a decent replacement.

Half decent pedigree, but by all accounts he's been awful at Celtic.

If Worralls got to go to reinforce the team, we still look well stocked, Id be inclined to give Mbe Soh a chance.

He was good under Hughton at Brighton, was their player of the season in 18/19, gradually dropped out of the team once Hughton left and reportedly hasn't had the best time on loan at Celtic although who knows with them, they seem to consider winning 2-1 a shit result.

Obviously a player Hughton trusts though.

Well that depends if you trust the club to spend it wisely...

Watched his 25 minute cameo in the old firm. He looks bereft of any confidence. My abiding memory of his performance was the simplest pass, misplaced to a Rangers player in his own box.

Looks a risky one to me given CB is the least of our problems.

That said Knockeart was Hughtons one pick here, he's looked a class above.

Depends if any Premier League clubs actually make an acceptable bid. If its just Burnley doing their best Mark Arthur impression again, he won't be going anywhere.

hes an absolute donkey. would be well p1ssed with this. I guess it would mean Worrall is off which is even more disappointing. this might be the final straw for me in watching forest for quite a while.

He is not a donkey. Has been superb for Ireland in his international career, and at Brighton.

Clearly has a problem at present, could be confidence, could be something else.

If Hughton can get him playing again he would be an asset.

All the same I would hate to see Worrall leave us.

    More chance of Shane Warne.
