I’ve got over 1.000 eBooks on my iPad. Many are for work though so boring techie stuff.
But the sight of a stuffed to bursting bookcase is always good, it’s just a massive pain when you move house.
„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“
„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”
— Joe Strummer
Gotta be a hardback for me, I'll read something in any format but I love a hardback with nice detailing under the cover. Proper book need stufd
Most of my „real“ Books are packed away in my storage unit for safekeeping, as it wasn’t really practical to take about a dozen boxes of books with me when I moved
How do you organise them on your shelves though?
You guys organise your books?
That's handy when you reach 'a certain age' but my youngest, an avid reader, won't have anything to do with them. Something about the feel of the book adding to the experience.
Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.
I really want to break out points about why E is much better for education purposes but I'd be banned for boring the forum to death
I like the highlight function so you can see where other people have picked out sections of particular interest. You might not agree with them but it makes you think.
Had British history section in my last zoom quiz to appease my 'patriotic' Brexit voting family. Asked when the Magna Carta was signed? They conferred and agreed it was 1922.
The next question, I asked who the first official PM was? Again they conferred and agreed it was Benjamin Gladstone
However, to be fair to them, they did know the name of Alf Garnet's home help.
