There's an entertaining thread on the 5haggers forum at the moment, titled "Miller in peace"

So... Wooney spat his dummy out because some chap on the Rotherham bench was giving the referee pelters. Rooney called him classless. Also our little rammie neighbours are getting worked up about it too.

First of all.... if it was so bad, why didn't the ref, red card/remove said person?

Second... what does Wooney know about class.... "he aint no Brian Clough is he"? Now HE was one manager that oozed class and etiquette.

And finally... IF Wooney's 5haggers had beaten Rotherham I bet you, all the tea in China, Wooney would have said sweet FA.

I watched the highlights of their match. 3-0 flattered Derby. They're a classic pointless 5 yard passes in the centre circle team. Several of the Rotherham chances came from them pressing Derby's backline as they mechanically passed it between themselves and counterattacks when their passing was intercepted further up the pitch.

I've wondered for a while if we're just disliked by other teams due to the behaviour of Mel Morris, then I read threads like this. We are absolutely pathetic. I really hope we don't go down because I don't think I could stand all you precious prima donnas giving it Billy Big baalocks to the likes of Accrington and Rochdale every single week, whilst crowing about what a "massive" football club Derby supposedly is. Oh, boo hoo, did you hear the bad man say a no no word? At a football game, no less! What is the world coming to?

I know you have history, and fair do's. but at the moment you are like other ex prem teams. You have to be patient and not giving the . we should be beating ...etc etc
    .

This could have been said to us when Megson was taking us out of this division.

Hilarious that a football chairman is called 'classless' by an ugly Scouser who allegedly cheated on his missus with a grandma prostitute and had threesomes behind his wife's back.

What an absolute rotter he is.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

Nice to see some normality back to the topic titles, feel more confident about this game now after the Cardiff init disaster.
Yes, we need to replicate those high standards on Saturday

Its a must not lose game for sure.

    Must win game this one.

No a draw would be ok

Especially if we lose the following three tough games
I did get a little Proustian rush when I saw Coventry vs Derby in the thread title - that's a fixture that feels like it belongs, much more so than this Wycombe, Huddersfield and Rotherham tosh....

I think we will get a reaction and some fresh energy from the rested players and will win

This game will be a true test of how well Rooney is actually doing.
A positive result is all that matters really.
Biggest game of the season this one. It's a must not lose game - I'd take a point now.
Biggest until Birmingham 3rd from last game or Sheff Weds on the final day?
4 wins from 13 games is all we need to stay up. I'll be shocked if we don't achieve that
Hopefully those games will be redundant and we can sit back and relax

And play a more adventurous game format with a few more of our youngsters getting game time

    Something to look forward to…

Resting players for a league game v Coventry...has it really come to this?

That’s probably the sort of lineup most were expecting, based on what Rooney has played in the main before. Still think the few players who survive from the poo show the other night - Roos, Wisdom, Clarke, Buchanan and Shinnie - are lucky to keep their places. Need a much stronger performance from everyone today, this game is massive.

    -------------

3 mins, 3 fouls. A classic in the making...

Cov playing it on the deck; we’re tending to hoof it early doors

They’re playing through our middle with ease.

    Ffs
    What was that!

Cov have a crap defence, we're still in this!

FFS - play the ball forwards.

Trying to pass it sideways instead of forward. We really do ask for it, done't we?

    Back in the relegation fight

I'm sure this team of bottle jobs who've picked up just 1 point after going behind will turn this around for us.

Strangely, there were a whole bunch of people on this forum not long ago wound up by a Guardian article that suggested we were in danger of relegation.

We need to stop their pay again

Can't blame the ref for our passing

Looks like the honeymoon period is over for Wayne & Co.

Can’t see where our next win is going to come from

    Waghorn is stealing a living

Goal was a gift for them but that performance was rubbish. May as well get on the coach back to Derby now because no point playing the 2nd half if we just play like that.

    Hoofball

Back to where we started at the beginning of the season, if our next 12 games are like the first 12 then we will be relegated

I'm so certain we won't win this that not only will I eat my shoes if we win, but I'll have my socks for dessert afterwards as well.

    This is absolutely embarrassing

Damn Barnsley are going to tear us apart...

    -------------

Bielik was the best player in the league when fit

At least Burton Albion have won so it looks like we'll be able to play each other in league one next season.

    Rooney can duck off tbh
Out played, out fought and out thought by a manager that knows his best team and their best positions.

I feel exactly l like I did when Cocu was in charge

Pathetic, gutless, spineless, one paced, no urgency, boring, timid, one dimensional. Take your pick. Can’t be arsed anymore with this guff.

    Sack Rooney.

    Friday:
Play like we did today and we've got a great chance in this game.

    Saturday
I quite like the job Rooney’s done as he has saved us from relegation (although whether results would have improved anyway is up for debate) but I do really hope he intends to play better football going forward. So many times there’s a possession retaining simple forward ball but instead we clip it into the channel so frequently
Hopefully a result against Reading and we can relax a bit more and play some more football for the last six

Not sure why but I fancy this. On paper Reading should win but I have a feeling about a smash and grab here. Not easy with Waggy and Gregory injured but if we can get Lawrence and Joz supporting CKR we're in with a chance. Maybe not this one, but we'll have Stretton back too to provide options going forward.

If we carry on the form of yesterday and show the same intent then I fancy us for this one. We played well against Watford and Brentford when we had a go.
I’d minimise the changes, same team with Joz and CKR coming back in for Waggy and Gregory. Only question is can Fozzy manage 2 games in 4 days.
I’ve gone for 2-1 with Jozwiak first goal, got my Luton prediction spot on so hoping that continues!!
Easily capable of getting a draw against these lot. They aint anything special.

I have gone 1-1 for this but I have a feeling that we might just pinch it

    Matchday (am)

Results over the weekend mean that we can now no longer make the play-offs. Having the pressure of that goal removed is bound to be a boost.

Reading can have a bit of of their own medicine today.
It was them that stuck 3 past us when we only needed a point to get in the playoffs on the last day of the season, innit?

    8 homegrown players. Nice

Jao on the bench for them thankfully, they have a couple of shorter, quicker strikers that might suit us better defensively. According to the BBC we are playing 3 at the back with Tom one of our wing backs

Interesting stat from Berkshire Rqdio guy. If you discount the first 8 games, they have only gained 3 more points than us.

I’m a Rooney man but, boy is he testing my patience.
After a more attacking formation against Luton and two, two you hear me, unanswered goals, we’re back to a midfield of Bird/Shin/Knight - plenty of endeavour but no creativity.
Please, please Wayne, if by some magic you ever bother to read this forum, play with at least 4 out and out attacking players to try and trouble the opposition.
    The Game

    This refs a bloody joke

    Coventry 1 up

It feels like Reading have got another gear here

Ohhhhhh! 3 chances in 10 seconds.

more attempts on target in 5 seconds than in the whole of February

    We can win this!

Classic air kick from Mengi. Connor Salmon-esque!

If you could relegate a town,I would pick Rotherham.

    Florist winning

Oh ffs 3rd min of injury they score first goal attempt in the half to our 7 and they fkin score...arggghhhh..

Would you credit it? Right on the whistle

    Ref should have blown

So 1-0 down at HT, should be 1-1 really but that’s football.
Knight - awful (again) today, hanging on to the ball for too long and he just seems to run around all game but not show any quality.
Sibley - out of the game and not getting involved - would bring Jozwiak or Roberts on for him at HT
Its becoming abit too much academy inclusive for me, we need more quality and experience and less unknown quantity.
Unfortunate we couldn't take our chances when they arrived. We played alright, I fear for us in the second half though.

    Said the same earlier.
One of the few times we've been unlucky this season to be losing . If we could have scored first fancied we could have nicked this one and should have played a more naturally attacking line up as their arse would have gone . Nothing Reading have put forward shows me any different . We'll probably lose now in all likelihood, but no way they'll be in top 6 end of season. There a mid table side come the final curtain

So anyway, just to confirm - any adjustments make by our Congress of Coaches in response to the first half?

Should be a penalty to us?

    Weak hands by Marshall

That's it, I'm out. Cya lads

    Good night Vienna.

    ducking hate Lawrence.
Dangles his ducking foot. No proper attempt.
Scores or assist once in a blue moon. Costs far more goals than he will ever create.

Ed Dawes “there 2-0 down but they’ve played alright”.
wake up Ed, playing alright doesn’t win you games and in the second half we have been very very poor.
All the academy lads are having shockers (Yes because half of them aren't good enough)
cowardly "tackling" by the genius that is Tom Lawrence..... get that tosspot away from the club asap

I actively dislike this squad. I don't care who gets sold or who we keep this summer. I'd bin the lot and start from scratch if I could.
I'm done for the season. I need a break from this constant frustration. See you in a few months folks whichever league we end up in.
I’ve just looked at the table got it’s gotten close again Birmingham and cov have 1 game In hand and could go above us with a win and a draw and then Rotherham have 4 games in hand win 2 of them and they are within touching distance. This will go to the last game and we can’t keep relying on teams below to mess up
After todays results we know where we are - us to Rotherham for the relegation place
I can take us losing, but losing everytime in this manner I can't. I know that the playing squad is not brilliant, but we should still try to play football. All we provide is hoofball down the line or up to the striker, bypassing the midfield
A great man once said "If got wanted us to play football in the sky, then he would have put grass up there".
Mad how quickly our corners have gone from un-defendable to ineffectual
Great save from Marshy. Should be 3-0.

    Get in game on

    What a goal from Lawrence.

    All you haters shut up

    Take a point from here

    Boo that was short lived...

    Jesus Christ we are bad

    Clearly Tom Lawrence’s fault that

We can make excuses but in reality we are one of the worst teams in the division, end of.
Let's just hope we can just about stay up and reset, whoever the manager and owner is next season.

    Post Match
    (Wayne)
"We were unlucky to lose. We'll train hard again this week and i expect a reaction next week..."

Can we have a bingo card for Norwich game

Looks like we will have to rely on Wycombe, sheff weds & Rotherham to make a mess of their season. We look incapable of getting out of this mess.

On another day... Olise slices his effort, Lawrence or Kazim score with one of their efforts, Bird's effort rifles into the top corner, Sibley wins a penalty, and we all enjoy the evening having won by a fantastic 4-1 scoreline. (not Steve Cotteril)

We're just not very good are we?

Nice one Tiger, thanks for posting.

What the f**k! You could say that about any team or make up any bizarre stat? I so hope they go down-they won’t though but I’d rather be on forest path than theirs!
They'll probably be fine as things stand given the gap between them and 3rd bottom, but if they do get a points deduction as a result of the EFL's appeal (even a small one like 3 or 6 points) then I think they are in trouble.

1 win in 9 for them currently. I don't see them picking up many points between now and the end of the season either.

I always enjoy reading about their day when we win and they lose. Nice balance to things.

Even King's Lynn won today, so it's been the best a day can be.

I don’t think they will go down as will with scrape enough points in the last 7 games to stay up and I can’t see sides like Rotherham going on a run of 3-4 wins on the bounce and then all sides above have to lose 4-5 as well to overhaul them. (But they do have a tough run in looking at it!) But barring a comedy points deduction I think they will be fine.

    Sadly.

But then we threw away a 7 (?) point gap in the playoffs last season so who knows.
