"That’s because they are from Nottingham. They have always tried to believe they are better than Yorkshire folk. It’s a sort of inferiority complex they have that goes back through history."

That's fucking rich when most of us here like a joke at our own expense and they refer to Yorkshire as "God's own country" despite it being the county chocked full of shitholes like Donny, Scunthorpe, Hull, Bradford and yes, Barnsley.

I am again minded of the great philosopher, Noel Gallagher, who tells us:

    „Yorkshire isn’t a County; it’s a collection of idiots“.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

Exactly that mate...Clipstone Pitman John Lowe to name one.

many folk in Yorkshire and in Notts need to brush up. I’m only in my 30’s, but it’s an obligation of understanding your roots to get off your arse and learn about your history.

I don’t mind being called a scab by those who feel like ‘we’ genuinely fucked them over, but I tend to find that those who really know the full picture rarely sink to insults no matter what their beliefs.

The only times I've ever been called 'scab' at Barnsley games was by people under 30 who clearly never worked in a pit. They also chose to direct their insults to someone of a similar age who clearly had never worked in a pit.

Someone else earlier in the thread said it, it's just football "banter" now like 'sheepshagger' or 'florist' is. It's all a bit pathetic.

    'Sheepshagger' is not football banter.
It's a very real problem that Police across Derbyshire need to get a handle on with the utmost urgency.

If they wore wellies as part of the uniform, their handle on the sheep wouldn't be so vital

Your palms are holding her neck and thumbs are at her ears regulating the speed of her head as she swallows and then sucks up your machinery. She is topping up your engine oil for the cross-country coming up. Your RPM is hitting a new high. To wait any longer would be to lose prime time... She picks up a Bugatti's momentum. You want her more at a Volkswagen's steady trot. Squeeze the maximum mileage out of your gallon of gas. But she's eating up the road with all cylinders blazing.

True fact - Nottingham was originally called Snotta Inga Ham, which changed to Snottingham, we lost the S over time - something the people of Scunthorpe are forever thankful didn't happen to them.
