    Default Bibs

It's been a long time since I have been to a Football League game so I am hopeful that someone can explain to me what the bib type garments are that footballers wear under their shirts.

It's a heart rate/performance monitor I believe mate. Tracks movement etc whilst they are on the field.

It's one of the things that provides data for the heat maps after the game

No problem. Pointless me wearing one. My heat map would have been the bog and the fridge today. I'd like to see Gary Neville analyse that.

„Well Jamie, look at his positioning there, he’s all over the place but he gets the beer - just about - but it’s a bit of a mess. Then here he comes again, dropping back to the bedroom, and he’s absolutely gone in hard from behind there. Ridiculous! Definite Red Card for me!“

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

The tracking vest is equipped with a bunch of different sensors that tracking basic bio info such as heart rate and temperature, but also track GPS position, and with a 9 degrees of freedom Inertial Measurement Unit to capture direction, movements, momentum, force, altitude etc

This gives a full picture of a player's empirically observable performance.

Without strategy, execution is aimless. Without execution, strategy is useless.

... It also means a bored keeper can write swear words in his box through the medium of GPS heat maps doohickeys.

I can't find the article now but at the beginning of lockdown when players were having to train on their own, clubs using ApexPro vests (most of them) had to get their players to link their vest to their smartphone so their training data could be sent to the club via the app. What they didn't factor in was all of sudden all these players would appear on Apex's public leaderboard because obviously, their stats are blowing out anyone who trains well but isn't on a sports-science conditioned programme.

But here's another story about our use of them

This isn't the article I was looking for but discusses the same lockdown issue from April

They're actually just sports bras cos modern footballers are too vain to reveal they've got massive moobs.

By "relegation battle", do you mean 7th, 12th or 14th?
