Forest have clearly missed a „big“ man putting himself about since the departure of Dele Adebola.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

I don't think Yates is really 'elevated' at all. Majority of people recognise he a bit raw still and has some way to improve but he puts in some good performances and gets praise, is that not fair? What I see more of on here and other social media is people who can't wait to knock him down when he does get a bit of fair praise.

He has got Freeman, Arter and Colback 3 very good players to learn from along with a brilliant manager - now is the time for Ryan to learn and improve himself alongside these experienced pros.

And MOM could have gone to pretty much anybody yesterday. I don't see why that is a stick to beat Yates with. It was a team performance, most of them did their job very well.

I don’t get the hate for Yates. He’s not a bad player and does a job when he is on the pitch.

What I do know is Hughton walked into a mess, a team that's lost it's first four games, yet somehow has contrived to get off to a winning start against a manager whose side has been 'evolving' for three and a half years. Hughton knows the game inside out and hats off to him tonight.

Being completely honest, I didn’t see much in that performance that we didn’t see against Bristol stylistically or tactically - I felt we had a little more spring in our step and definitely got the stroke of luck we probably deserved in the Bristol game, but overall it’s a continuation of the last regime.

I think that’s a good thing. Hughton can make the small adjustments to the system that will evolve us rather than change us completely.

Yates was my MOM, too. Obviously. I love to ‘elevate’ a player for being good at his job

When someone trots out a tweet promoting a 75% pass completion, 2 tackles & 3 headers calling him "superb" for Nottingham Forest, your elevating him. When folk trip over themselves at the expense of performances like Figueredo, McKenna, Iannou, Freeman, it aint helping the youngster. Needs to spend some time ubder the radar.

Played well yesterday, but he'll remain divisive until he sheds the "special teams" tag.

There wasn’t a lot different in the tactical set up yesterday compared to the earlier games, but that’s why it was such a positive to appoint a new man who can work with the existing squad, rather than a manager with a very different style who needs to bring in a new squad to get us playing the way he wants.

I look at the squad that played, and think what role each player was there to do and judge them accordingly.

If it wasn’t Yates, who performed his role exactly as he is expected to (or better IMO), then it was Christie or Ioannou who both had great games defensively but didn’t quite set the game alight with their attacking play - much like Yates.

I don’t think any other players did their role better than Yates did his? Freeman, Grabban, Ameobi and Lolley stuck to task but didn’t really do much of note - bar scoring, which I always feel is a bit of a cop out when picking a MOTM unless they’ve really dug something out of the mire like Freeman vs Bristol.

Happy to be wrong tho and as ever I respect your opinion.

In order to stay relevant I believe he has had to change his name to Dele Adcorona

Hopefully not when we're defending a corner because we don't want anyone tripping over it and him giving away a penalty.

You say this but throw in the "ballet dancer" comment.

Then you post over the top stuff like this, throwing more little digs in. How is praising Yates "at the expense" of the other players? That's a bit of spin isn't it.

Perhaps the tweet about his stats was also a little tongue in cheek dig at the knockers.

Just been reading Millwall came in with an offer for Yates last Friday and rightly we cleared Rowett off but he claims he will test Forest in January for a player he rates very highly @!!

This game sort of reminded me of the game at Ewood Park at the start of the 2013 season. Venky's were still new at the game and Ewood Park was almost in lockdown (except for the noisy Forest fans), the game was a dreary affair with each side cancelling out the other.

Until the 90th minute, Mackie, I think it was, chased a long ball towards their keeper, who dropped it in the direction of Hendo and he smashed in a winner. Tumultuous applause from us.

Substitute a Lolley deflection and it mirrors what might have been our last win at this venue. Kelvin Wilson's first game for us, too.

A bit of reason goes a long way eh. I wouldn't have been surprised if McKenna got MOM but it doesn't really matter does it. We won, they all played pretty well and as a team, that's what is important. Not having a pop at Yates because someone else didn't get a mention.

the difference in that last 4 games , the team were unmotivated and lackluster until they go 1-0 or 2-0 down, sabri has no clue how to lift the team up.

If the stats point is aimed at my original post your spot on, it was because so many "fans" said he did nothing all game, and "what posirive impact did he have", well winning all your headers, tackles and getting an assist is a decent positive impact.

It wouldn’t be Forest if we didn’t have a player to hate, I really don’t understand it. We could be 10 points clear at the top of the league and yet someone would be singled out for dogs abuse.
