Chris Hughton cards a virtual birdie to open at -1 on the rolling scorecard.
This game rings a bell. Have you done this before?

CH is more dapper than I remember tbf.

He's not Sabri level, but he looks a million miles better than some of the vagrants knocking around.

The Brand Spanking New Chris Hughton Rolling Scorecard (continued):

    Forest 1-1 Rotherham.

Plenty of effort and industry, but failure to take chances.

Plenty more work to be done before Friday.

Chris Hughton cards a virtual par to remain at -1 on the rolling scorecard.

Despite being unbeaten in the CH era and gaining 4 points, it feels rather downbeat and hollow.

I hope the players and manager are really just finding their feet in a new style of play and it will all come good.

CH has the players; I'm sure he can weld them into a good fighting team.

No surprises about Hughton’s methods/style. He cares about the fundamentals. Cut out the defeats and the wins will take care of themselves. That’s what he did at Brighton and Newcastle.

It’s been good to see how quickly he’s made us solid. Neither Blackburn or Rotherham really created many chances against us and both games saw us produce most of the attacking threat.

Solid start with a focus on the right things.

In my book he's doing just fine. Making us solid and trying to build the confidence.

He is certainly getting the team to pass quickly and moving the ball forward quicker. It seems the team are pushing hard until the end where through last season we seemed to fade and either hung on or didn't.

I have no complaints about him. We look defensively stronger again, and yet we seem to be better at going forward. I see a clear willingness to get forward in numbers. This will only improve as we get more used to it. Factor in Knockaert and hopefully Grosicki and we're looking good.

Limiting the opposition to very few chances was the foundation of our best runs of form last season, so it’s good to see how rapidly he’s addressed the problem. As Itsy says, cut out the defeats and the wins take care of themselves.

It’s also really pleasing to see a similarity and gentle evolution in style from manager to manager rather than the previous chopping and changing requiring a whole new team.

Watched on the red button last night, no crowd noise, whether it was Hughton or Trollope shouting I dont know, but everytime we got on the ball they were shouting "forward".

Balls certainly moving quicker, tempos gone up a notch & we're suddenly watertight at the back.

Much more enjoying to watch, even though we're still making some unforced errors.

I was a little surprised that CH has reverted back to the traditional 'home' dugout. No doubt Colin will be pleased that he can continue to have friendly banter with the linesman when he next visits.
