In the unlikely scenario of anti football being the key to promotion and the even more unlikely scenario of a manger staying for a season and a half I won't be kicking and screaming as forest get spanked each week in the prem and drop like a stone after. I'll probably be screaming at Frankfurt players then anyway.

Middlesborough and Barnsley at home next, then Wycombe away.

Should be aiming for minimum 6 points from that, if not more. I think that would take us up to 16th place and probably put us 8-10pts clear of the drop zone.

But we never beat the Barnsley Babies or Colin sides.

We never used to beat Cardiff or Millwall either.

Bloody Barnsley. We never seem more than a few matches away from playing those clunkers. We are due to give them a good shoeing though.

I know this opinion is anathema to some, but I still have the utmost faith that Hughton will prove to be a success at Forest. I think this season we'll finish in the top half, and then with a summer transfer window we'll have a far more competitive 2021-2022 season, one that will eclipse Sabri's season.

I feel similarly mate. I have no doubt he'll do well here. I keep saying it, but we aren't going to get anyone better.

He didn't panic when we went through that difficult spell when we faced all the top teams. No knee jerk changes to the team, but instead calm and quiet belief in his methods and the players.

Couldn't agree more with the last sentence.

Slight double edged sword for me, as I think changing Figs to McKenna would have yielded us more points. But we can't pick & choose individual aspects of a manager, and the positives are outweighing the negatives.

His faith in his methods and focus on where things are headed is top notch.

Agree with that, except other than putting him on the bench after several weeks out, McKenna has only been absent from the starting line-up through injury under Hughton.

We will not be relegated that is one thing I am sure about now.
    But I doubt we'll make top 6.
Hughton doesn't seem to be a flapper.
Sabri at the end was clutching at straws (in my opinion).

    He's tried and tested.

    He's Championship proven.

We'd be fools to ditch him.

    No Plan B though.

    8 positions below safety.

    It's a no from me.

This 'no plan b' thing gets leveled at a lot of managers but what does it actually mean? Are we talking tactically? By the same token you could argue Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp etc have no plan b. The importance of tactics gets overstated.

It usually means the person commenting has no idea about football.

Think it gets more relevant further down the food chain. Guardiola & Klopp get to drill their plans with the cream of world football.

lamouchi was a classic case in point for me, dictionary definition of a playbook manager. Its not so much about having a number of different plans, second string managers don't tend to be that good, its the ability to react when your default plans not working. Lamouchi just ploughed on regardless, arguably Warburton the same before him. Its why Warnock is so successful at this level.

Evolution with some adaptability is key, Hughton has already progressed us & shown an ability to mix it up where necessary.

Think you're post is good mate, but in Lamouchi's defense I don't think he had the options to adapt either.

Go 2 up top? Oh look, I have Rafa Mir to bring on.
Need some pace? Oh look, I have Adama Diawankby to bring on
Need some skill/pace & goals after Jan? Oh look, I have Da Costalot For Nowt to bring on
    Etc.

I think you're right, he didn't evolve quick enough, but I also think he needed more confidence in his other options to be able to do so.

Can't argue with that really. You look at our bench last season and there wasn't really anything there that could change a game in our favour.

Wasn't it Warburton who said that Plan B was to do Plan A better? If it's good enough and you have the right players it may work. But we aren't Man City or Liverpool...

Hughton's problem is he has no Plan C.
