Default Matchday 2: Cardiff City Fan Comments

Had this ref 3 times last year. We won all the games, not conceding a goal. Long may it continue.

So long as we keep an eye on Ian Storey-Moore and catch Peter Shilton on a bad day we’ll be ok.

I'll be happy if Grabban misses as many today as he did against QPR last week.

If we lose this to nil - How many more games does Neil get to turn this terrible start around I wonder.

So if we lose this there will be woe and despair on this message board, and if we win then people will be predicting playoffs again?

After the last two performances I struggle to see us getting anything here.

Well its the right place to be going...its a very lucky ground for us, I havent seen us lose or even draw there in 5 visits. No matter how bad we were or how good they were, even their promotion year under Clough when we were awful we won. It was over 2 years before they lost another league game at the City ground in which time they had won promotion, the league and the European cup...

Sky commentator just remarked that the Nottingham Forest FC Academy have made £50m in players brought through by their Academy!*Seems something's going right up there...

The most recent additions include attacking midfielder*Brennan Johnson*— a Welsh under-21 international who could soon be fast-tracked into the senior side to fend off any potential interest from England.

Thought idea of academies was to produce youngsters for 1st team not to spend years and millions ££££s producing talent then go sell them ? Brentfords plan better get in young foreign players make them better then sell them spent £60m but sold £170m of talent.

I don’t like the look of that starting line up at all - no pace in the midfield and where’s Murphy?

Zero creativity meaning there will be zero service for Moore and ralls will be our floaty set piece taker aiming for Morrison every time. Hoilett will struggle and has been for months and will not beat a man and will offer nothing.

    KIEFFERRRR!!!

I showed up late and we're 1-0 up!

How awful was that defending by Forest?

I saw that goal going in 3 seconds before it did. If that was our defending I'd be livid. The defending to give the corner away was just as bad too.

"Sabri Lamouchi is the first Forest manager to finish a season since 2011" - ESPN+ guy.

Surely that can't be true. That's mad.

    Huge let off.

    Should be 1-1.

    What a miss!

Luke Freeman whips in a dangerous, left-footed ball from the right wing and Lewis Grabban is just yards out from goal, all he needs to do is toe it home.

Two poor sides at the moment to me.

We need another goal before half-time. 2nd half won't be as easy as this.

    Get in!!

    2-0! Moore!!!

    Lovely tap in.

The UNREST in the dressing room is really showing today.

    Forest have been terrible defensively.

Forest dominating early second half, should have scored a couple.

Something tells me this Sky commentary team isn't entirely neutral.

    Forest dominating this second half.

We have been horrific in the second half.

70+ minutes in, we're getting battered and no changes?

    Relentless this from Forest.,

    I like that Lyle Taylor.

    He’d probably do well here.

Awful second half but a brilliant result.

Well done City. Clean sheet. Excellent 3 points. Especially after last week. Very poor performance by Forest today though.

Think Forest may struggle this season.

They will if they pick Grabban over Taylor every week.

Game was won 1st half. Job done.

Excellent first half. Worked hard and rode luck a bit 2nd but a deserved win.

Well done bluebirds - you made Johnny Owen cry again.

Great win but it didn't paper over the cracks and in fairness Forest looked poor.

The second half was pretty awful. We barely had a kick and didn't look comfortable defending. Thankfully, Forest couldn't finish anything today.

City won’t have a more comfortable win all season as Forest were so poor first half.

    Cheers Calvin.

What is going on at the moment? That's the second bunch of fair and reasonable comments on the spin.

Forest in the bottom 3 as opposed to top 3 from last season, fair opposition comments Did I wake up in a parallel universe a few weeks ago?

As plain as the proverbial dog's nose.

Without strategy, execution is aimless. Without execution, strategy is useless.

Hopefully its a wake up call to go on the offensive with his formations. Truly belive carvalho and Freeman could produce some great link up play to feed grabs or taylor

Wow. They though we did better in the second half than we did! Not often you hear that from opposition fans.

Fair and balanced as was last week's fan comments. Possibly because both sets of opposition fans were getting worried over their own prospects.

Good to hear these comments again. Helps balance my own myopic view.

If they can see it....why can't we?!

By "relegation battle", do you mean 7th, 12th or 14th?

Not too bad them. Although it might be better reading Sheep Fan Comments of their games at the moment, just to cheer us up a bit.

Getting on a bit now, but an ace option off the bench at the moment.

I think the lack of vitriol and general niceness in the comments is due to fans pitying us. Which is tough to stomach, to be honest, but that's where we are.

For Cardiff it’s their annual business as usual win at Forest. A regulation ‘we should be beating teams like this’ 3 points.

Aye, and there's plenty of big physical sides who will be rubbing their massive hands looking forward to beating us at the CG.

The finance man in me is thinking: we got Taylor for nothing (ho!ho!) as he was out of contract.
He is now on a contract with us (3 years?).
We could sell him before the window closes for £10m...

And the operations man in me is thinking what message would that send to the current squad and any future signings...

The same message we sent when we sold Matty Cash...we're in it for the asset stripping.

Cash wanted to join a bigger club at a higher level to further his career. Nothing wrong with that. Bringing in a player and selling him a month later just to make a profit however...

Selling quality academy graduates for decent money is hardly asset stripping

And the man with a brain in me is thinking what on earth are you talking about?

Nobody would pay 10m for him. If they wanted him that badly they would have got him on a free themselves a few weeks ago.

Player would get two signing on bonuses - nice work in the space of a month.

Problem here is no one would buy him, because if they wanted him that bad, they'd have signed him on a free already, and if they wanted him that bad and missed out to us, then they won't be able to offer him better terms now anyway.
