The version I read is actually somewhat different. Modesto does not want to lose him and wants to buy him now, either for Forest or for Olympiacos, but he may remain on loan in France.

Incidentally, this is usually what we've doing with most of the younger French players we've signed: we leave them for six months or a year in their team or in another French club.

89 starts, in a 6 year career, at a very low level.

Not much to go on, has the edge physically on Ribeiro though who often loses out on that battle.

Ligue 2 team of the year for Get French Football News

    Christopher Operi – left-back (Châteauroux – 23)

Due to injuries last term, at the age of 23, this is Ivorian left-back Operi’s first consistent season at senior level. Like many emerging young players in France, the gung-ho Operi got his start in the sprawling fourth and fifth divisions, firstly with Caen’s B team then the reserves of his current club, the small Loire valley outfit Châteauroux. Explosive in attack, even contributing a couple of goals this term, Operi may suit a role further forward, although his coach Nicolas Usai continues to argue that Operi benefits from playing with the game ahead of him. Soon to be a free agent, St Étienne were linked as early as January and they won’t be the only Ligue 1 side looking to snap up one of the second tier’s best bosman options this summer.

Interesting. If we’re doing that, I’d rather get him over and out on loan to a league 1 or 2 team.

That would be a better indication of his suitability for us in 12 months time I think.

Small thing and it doesn't include his defending or general first touch but the way he strikes the ball looks like a player. Those powerful low-dippers across goal into the corner.

He's 23, so presumably wouldn't have played many games at 17 or 18, so it's more like 89 games in four years, which is nearly 25 a season, which is OK.

Considerably shorter season in France as well.

We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

If we ever play Celtic he'd better not play the Magic Flute like Gazza did

interestingly suggests the Mbe Soh deal has been done
Sabri Lamouchi, who has just recorded the reinforcement of Parisian Loïc Mbe Soh

Hopefully Redemption. With Sabri even talking about it there has to be positive vibes it is close to done. Come on Forest seal the deal

Two of the Analytics boys at insightMrkt have both told me today that this Operi is a right player. It will be quite the coup.

If Olympiacos do sign him, maybe they could send him on season loan to Forest?.
less risk for Forest & if he does ok he proves to Olympiacos he can handle what is arguably a tougher lge than Ligue2.
