    Great band name Gaz.

Edit...or, should that be, great close harmony group name?

Aye... they do a few Del Vikings tunes. They've been over to the Uk a couple of times, unfortunately Frank, I never got to see them play live.

No vinyl here tonight and very little booze, feeling a little fragile after last nights 18th birthday party we attended.

However, I’ve been listening to a pirate station on sw radio and they have been playing some rock classics. ‘Bat out of hell’ by Meat Loaf came on and it’s not something I would ever choose to listen to, but what a great piece of music.

How is the new turntable performing, Fredster? Good audio?

Sounds amazing thanks Bryn. Can't stop using it.

Just took my seat in the vinyl library as the missus catches up with the Strictly Dancing show. I'm listening to Bruce Springsteen's finest LP......The Wild The Innocent And The E Street Shuffle (CBS 1973, original pressing).

Poured a 12-year-old Laphroaig on-the-rocks to accompany. Bliss.

Been listening to a lot of Springsteen recently. Maybe it's an age thing but I've rediscovered a new found love of his stuff.

I was really into him a few years ago, but I got part way through his autobiography and fount him to a complete nob. Barely listened to him after until recently.

For me I have Amyl and the Sniffers on. Comfort to Me is a fantastic album. Drinkswise I've had a Bin Day Shuffleboard. A Mexican rice lager brewed with Lervig. Lovely stuff.

Similarly Freddie, although he's obviously made some good stuff since, his first three, Greetings From Asbury Park, the aforementioned The Wild & The Innocent... and Born To Run between '73 and 75 was his peak period for me and, as such, are the only LPs I have of his.

That said, on our last visit to New York in 2018, we tried in vain to see his one-man show on Broadway, but to say it was "the hottest ticket in town" was an understatement, unless you were prepared to pay out silly money.

Born to Run is my favourite by him. One of the benefits of starting record collecting when I did (2014) was that a load of his stuff was cheap, I never found a nice copy of Asbury Park sadly.

Did get Born in the USA for a fiver, so that's good.

I would love to see him live, but I've heard his sets are 3 hours long, I'm not sure I could do it at the moment

You put ice in a 12-year old single malt?
    Burn him!

I think Laphroaig say to put some water or ice in it.

But lets all remember the rule, the best whisk(e)y is the whisk(e)y you like, how you like it.

Bit harsh. I'd never spoil any whisky with a mixer, but two small cubes can enhance the flavour for me.

As Freddie remarks, each to their own.

A dash of water (or small ice cube) will bring out the flavour.

Been listening to the new LP by Neil Percival Young, I've got all his stuff on vinyl and this is his best album in at least 10 years but that's not difficult because the last 3 or 4 have been very poor. The last very good one was Psychedelic Pill

Yes , only found this out a couple of years ago , just enough to add a shimmer to the whiskey , hold it to the light and see it dance.
Definitely better with just a drop of water in it.

I agree to the dash of water, but not the ice.
Down to personal taste I think...
My burn him comment was only in jest... I didn't mean to have him burned.

I know it's not Saturday but I dusted off a copy of Tapestry by Carol King earlier.. potentially one of the greatest albums ever wrote, sounds so much better when played on vinyl.
