    Default Nikolas Ioannou

This looks to be happening : https://themasports.tothemaonline.co...-toy-marinaki/

    Nottingham is approaching N. Ioannou

Developments seem to emerge in the case of Nikolas Ioannou and the possibility of his transfer to Nottingham Forest. The English team has increased its offer to APOEL for the acquisition of the extreme defender and thus the chances increase for the transfer to finally take place.
In such a case, all parties will be satisfied. On the one hand, APOEL will put a respectable amount in its coffers, in a difficult time, while on the other hand, the footballer will have the opportunity to go one step further in his career.

If this guy and Blackett sign, then surely that means that Bong is off?

Can't say I know anything about this chap, but our defensive signings from overseas have actually been very decent (Figueiredo, Ribeiro and Chema) so if he is of a similar calibre then I'm all for it.

According to the Cypriot press your first offer was in the range of 400k, and they wanted significantly more.

The player is reportedly hard pressing his club to make the deal.

Hopefully this means Hefele and Benalouane are being shown the exit

Now reports are that APOEL are trying to replace him with former target Niklas Hult.

That's it. Think he was leaving Panathinaikos when we were linked and he ended up at AEK.

Signing both would certainly give us more left sided options in defence, which Sabri was supposedly keen on having last summer.

He played mostly as a LB this season. If you're looking at two LCBs who can also play LB, this probably means that you're looking for a replacement for Bong who can also play as a CB, which makes sense since a) Ribeiro is expected to play most games, b) you're short on CBs, and c) Bong is crap.

Even in Greece word has got around that our bomb squad is the place to become a millionaire while eating Nando’s and sipping coffee.

Seriously though, is the lad any good GBG?

Can only go from his highlights, but he looks more of a LB, who is strong, has decent pace, loves a battle and has a booming left foot. Looks a lot more like a LB who can play CB.

If we do get him and Blackett, makes me wonder if the Mendes taking his clients away is happening with us too, and Yuri off?

I don't follow Cypriot football, so I have never seen him. The only things I know about him are that he is very very highly regarded in Cyprus, a captain of his team, a starter for the last two seasons, and a fan favourite (especially due to his combativeness).

APOEL are in financial distress, which is why they are forced to sell. Incidentally, it's no longer a case of a double deal, since we are not interested in the Jordanian Al-Tamari anymore, and Cypriot media stressed that talks only involved Ioannou. This means that it is not a side deal, part of the Al-Tamari transfer, but someone you actually wanted.

Sounds good for us-regular starter and captain- more leadership on the pitch the better. As someone said seems more of left back who can play centre back.

Really like the look of his highlights, looks to have plenty of desire in the tank.

It is only Cypriot football but like Blackett he was at Man Utd's academy. He looks mobile and not afraid of contact. Reads danger and can carry the ball. Definitely a lot to like in that video.

I think SSM might be right about Yuri. Who else is Mendes ? Joao ?

The obligatory caution about YouTube highlight videos has to exercised.
Cypriot football is nowhere the level of Championship football.
However, he started off at ManUre so should have some awareness of what footie is like in England.
