I think the thing is with Bong, is that Hughton and the ownership know that no fucker is going to want him and his contract. And Hughton likely feels he is adequate cover.

On the flip side Ian had interest and if he is second choice it is easier to move him on.

Hopefully he comes back in the summer, we can get rid of the likes of Bong and he can fight it out for a starting spot.

He had all the hallmarks of becoming a cult fan favourite and we are crying out for someone like that to get behind these days.

That said, Ribs is one of our better players Imo. Shame he isn't right footed as Christie pisses me right off every time he plays

    And off he goes!

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

Good luck to the lad, admired his determination and desire at the very least.

He made his full debut for Aris. Very positive comments by Aris' fans, especially for his attacking contribution and his overall passion; they do not fail to remark, however, that he lacks in technical skills and is sometimes a bit clumsy in defense (he got his first yellow card already).

Speaking of yellow cards and Aris, Benalouane is consistently excellent, but is shown a yellow card too often (he already has four in ten full appearances). And he gets into fights with opponents every other game.

Couldnt get through a game here without piling through the back of someone, anyone.

Could play though, I liked him.

    Aris, the NFFC refuge camp.

Siampanis, Iannou, Benalouane. Didn't we try to offload Clough, Karim & Guerrero to them as well?

Ioannou and Benalouane only. Siampanis was on loan from us, so technically we offloaded him to Aris, not you.

You tried to offload Clough to a couple of Greek clubs, none of which took the bait, they're not that stupid. Ansarifard, no, you sold him to a Qatari team for good money (in the area of 1,5m reportedly). Guerrero was supposedly a target of Aris, but they couldn't afford him and/or the player was not really keen and/or you were not particularly keen on letting him go.

In any case, judging how happy they are with Ansarifard (and, hopefully, with Ioannou), you'll probably be able to offload more in the future.

I thought he'd become a bit of a cult hero (a good one). Hopefully he'll be back next year but i doubt anyone is going to take Bong off us in a hurry..

Ribeiro is out of contract in the summer, so I suppose you could see Yuri be let go, Ian take over and Bong as the backup going forward.

In other news, Ioannou just scored his first goal for Aris.

Doesn't seem to have seen much first team action since his loan move in Jan. Just the 5 appearances so far. Aside from that he's been mostly bench warming. Not sure how much more he is gaining out there that he wouldn't have got fighting for a spot here. I think he would have given Yuri and Bong a run for their money.

Interestingly his last run out was as a sub against Olympiacos in the Greek Cup, and the 2nd leg is tonight.

I was just about to write that. He's clearly a bencher for Aris, to the point that his manager prefers to play a right back left rather than him.

Incidentally, Benalouane is also a bencher, after a bright start.
