There has been a big change in the pattern of results since football was restarted after lockdown. Home v Away results are now nearer 50-50 rather than 66-34 previously meaning, and stating the obvious, that home advantage is largely due to the effect of the crowd.
Any club that goes most of the season without a home crowd will face a genuine disadvantage vs teams who do.
Stand Firm And Strike Hard
Great yes, let football club continue to demand rescue packages from the government while football carries on playing all matches behind closed doors through choice.
Also, when Geoff at number 76 gets covid and is forced to self isolate over the holidays, the only fair course of action would be for Boris cancel Christmas in the UK.

I heard on the radio news this morning a couple of Wycombe fans who had been present for last night's game against Stoke.
They were complaining about the lack of atmospher.

Going to to a real life three dimensional football game this afternoon. It's the big one - Welling Utd v Chippenham Town.
Welling's ground is a couple of miles London side of the London/Kent border. Welling fans that live east of the ground still aren't allowed to go. Will be like Thanos clicked his fingers at Park View Road.
And as a Brucie, attending this game means I won't feel obliged to watch a Forest stream for the first time since June.
Enjoy it FB, looking like London will be in Tier 3 by next week.
Did they track & trace people at the matches?
I would like to have seen the evidence of any transmission at Football Grounds, and if there was none would beg the question why all of the country cannot go to games now.
I can tell you for a fact you are more likely to catch it doing your christmas shopping than going to a controlled football ground.
The question now must be: will we be able to attend games NEXT season?
I think this season is pretty much done - I haven't even renewed my Notts CCC membership yet as couldn't go once last year and I think we may struggle to be able to go this season much as well so will save my cash for the season after if that is the case.
It will depend on how successful the vaccine roll-out is.
Given this government's lamentable track-record so far in dealing with the pandemic, personally speaking, I'm hugely sceptical that crowds will return in anything approaching large numbers before the end of 2021.
I'll be delighted if I'm wrong.

I would like to see the data when they rolled out the 2k matches. Although, I doubt there is any.
Whenever crowds return it will be brilliant, that is for sure.
Yes, it's unlikely to be allowed this season given that vaccine roll out will only protect the most vulnerable by next month on projected rates: the top 8 (?) categories probably end of March unless there is some form of issue with supply chain which might make it worse.
Given that there's only then a few matches quite frankly there's no reason why anyone should go to the effort. Just play the whole season behind closed doors, keep vaccinating and by August we'll probably just be left at like under-30s or something most of whom will not be at a massive risk.
It's outside mainly anyway but then there's the issue of touching hand rails, indoor concourses etc which make it unsafe now.
I suppose it depends on the capacity allowed?
When I went to watch VfB in October, when crowds were briefly allowed in Germany before the country‘s second lockdown, capacity was limited to 9.500 hardy souls in an Arena that normally can hold up to 60.000 and I had an entire row of 20 seats in a block to myself and one other fan sat about ten seats away.
„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“
„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”
