I thought they were handing out £10k fines to people throwing parties before Christmas?

Fitty Priti probably thought that she'd already done it in March...
I take it the organisers have got the names of the other 395? https://www.standard.co.uk/news/crim...&itm_content=1

Police 'considering' imposing the £10,000 fine, what is there to consider? This is the reason no one takes anything the government says seriously. Get it done and fine all those there £800, find out who else was there and fine them too. Pathetic.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“
„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

Took the old man for his jab this morning, all very well organised, in and out in twenty five mins. He was just told the cancer treatment will lower the efficacy of the vaccine, fucksake and he won;t get his second jab for months. Looks like he will be on his own for a bit longer.
Who could blame him on if he wants to see his granddaughter and give her a hug?
I know it's not legally allowed, but if both he and granddaughter can isolate (as in, properly. No shops, no visitors, no kids in school etc) for two weeks prior to said hug the risk is practically zero.
The difficulty many of us are going to have is that vaccine efficacy is only going to last a few months by the sounds of it. There are going to be points where the pandemic is "over" but there's some minor community spread whereby we're all allowed to go back to normal and socialising is encouraged.
There's always going to be a degree of risk from here. It's going to fall on us to lower it as much as possible for our families rather than government mandates.

I've been having some health issues of late and the docs are having problems working out what it is, so just in case asked me to get a covid test. I don't have any covid symptoms but because it presents in so many different ways he thought it worth checking and to eliminate it as a possibility (hopefully).
I have to say that poking the stick in the back of my throat and up my nose wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I hope that they get back soon with a negative result or I'm going to have to resort to making up powdered milk. :O(
Self-isolation sucks!
Thanks.
My dad used to have reconstituted milk with his bran flakes. He didn't notice the difference. I'm sure it will be fine. I got it in as an insurance for just this kins=d of instance. Hopefully though I'll be able to pop up the shops once I get the results back.
Peterborough beer festival cancelled for a second year running. Shit is just depressing now.
