Just as a comparative, the WHO estimate that 4-5 million people die each year due to exposure to ambient air pollution. On that basis we should all be driving electric cars, or not driving at all if we really wanted to be unselfish and care more about other people's health than our own convenience. If only people took climate change and pollution as seriously as they seem to want to police other people's behaviour around Covid.

I'm just going through a bad time of it at the moment and the last thing I want is yet more Covid related things we need to do in the house - I'm starting to resent being asked to do x,y,z. Give it a couple of days and I'll probably get my head straight and get back on board with it all. But I'm not in that place right now.

I'm sure that you are fed up with all the instructions to try and stop the spread of the virus, I know I am and I'm pretty sure that everyone else is. If I had kids I would take the tests if only to try to keep them safe. Reinfections do seem to occur, and the vaccines aren't 100% effective. The less infected people, symptomatic or asymptomatic, that there are the less risk there is of the virus mutating. Just because the current versions don't seem to be effecting youngsters doesn't mean that one co uldn't arise. If it can be caught before it spreads then it could save a lot of lives. What would you say to a person if your daughter caught a new version that affected young children, and they had decided not to take the test and they didn't show any symptoms. It is a long shot, I know, but is it worth the risk?

I'm not at all surprised by the drop in cases over Easter, schools aren't testing and expecting parents to do them and report. I expect cases will rise when the kids go back and if schools test again.

If anything this thread has been a fascinating one as people who have never posted anything before have popped in to show they're a wobble head with no rational thinking for anyone else, but themselves.

I read that as denier - as in the thickness of stocking material.

Your palms are holding her neck and thumbs are at her ears regulating the speed of her head as she swallows and then sucks up your machinery. She is topping up your engine oil for the cross-country coming up. Your RPM is hitting a new high. To wait any longer would be to lose prime time... She picks up a Bugatti's momentum. You want her more at a Volkswagen's steady trot. Squeeze the maximum mileage out of your gallon of gas. But she's eating up the road with all cylinders blazing.

Like clockwork. They are scum - the media, not the people queing up.

There are already dozens of pictures of this kind of thing & I am sure there will be many more throughout the day: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-56713639

Shops have been closed for months. Why shouldn't their reopening be reported on? It would be a bit weird if it wasn't don't you think?

The media have even spotted Nigel Farage queueing at the front of the queue for Ikea this morning, remonstrating with staff about them not opening up on time.

If there was a queue to give Farage a good kicking I'd happily be photographed waiting patiently in it.

I don't understand why the chavvies are all queuing outside Primark whenever non-essential retail reopens.

You've been able to buy online for delivery and click/collect this time, surely their furlough cash isn't burning that much of a hole in their trackies?
