I was there for Roy Keane’s debut in Scouse shit land. We lost that night I think, but he did show flashes of things to comes.

    Kevin Campbell?
    Ben Watson?
Saw Marlon's debut at West Brom on the final day of Bassett's promotion season. Hit the bar from thirty years. Missed and open goal from a yard.

Isn't that the game where he gave John Barnes a kick and...so the story goes, an angry Barnes asked him who the fuck he thought he was...and Keano just replied 'Fuck off'?

Think his name was Joe Blake - came on against the Sheep in the 2-3 FA Cup replay, missed a sitter right at the death and disappeared again. He was just a kid at the time, so slightly harsh, maybe.

Think this was Mark Byrne. Thought he was a cracking young player that would do well if he got the opportunity. But that miss seemed to destroy him at Forest. He's been at Gillingham for a few years.

To say he looked rusty in terms of match-readiness is an understatement, but I'm struggling to agree that Bong's debut was as disastrous as the OP states. He didn't look significantly worse than some of the regulars alongside him in my opinion.

Magic Forest 89 has got to be up here, certainly.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

Roche because we thought he'd actually be good - penalty save in the brief cameo when Beasant got sent off, then a clean sheet in the match he was banned, next time he played he didn't look like he knew a ball.

Though I didn't think Pascolo's debut was the Man City game - he had signed in the summer (when we still had Crossley) and started the season, we won our first few matches then after he got injured we brought in Beasant on loan. He was shit though for an international with a good pedigree.

I thought Beck scored on his debut?

Trevor Francis didn't exactly set the world alight for the first couple of months with us!

By "relegation battle", do you mean 7th, 12th or 14th?

    Probably right.

Matt Upson. Played half an hour, sent back to Arsenal on a stretcher

There was some absolute shithousery going on in 05/06 when we played and lost to Woking in the LDV vans trophy ... Not sure which of the muppets where making debuts though.

Nottm Forest: Gerrard, James, Thompson, Fernandez, Vickerton, Bopp (Pittman 57), Holt, Gardner, Bastians, Dadi, Weir-Daley.
Subs Not Used: Morgan, Commons, Perch, Pedersen.

Richard Irving. Late sub against Man Utd, missed a sitter in the last minute scores at 1-1. Never saw him again.

Given that was div three Forest losing to non league opposition, that side must be staking a claim for the worst starting eleven ever put out by Forest in a competitive fixture.

Fernandez and Vickerton definitely were. For both of them, it was their only appearance.

With the worst ever manager. I was incandescent with rage when Doughty appointed him. Would have been better keeping Harford on if no-one else wanted it.
