Very odd IMO. If we're going for this lad, we may as well edge our bets and take a cheap gamble on Mads too.
Cowley doesn’t like technically gifted wingers. He likes bullish, physically imposing wingers who can bully full backs. He prefers technicality in the 10 and 8 positions - hence signing Payne, Grant and Morrell at Lincoln and bringing on Bacuna at Udders.

So bombing out a technically gifted winger doesn’t surprise me, particularly if the winger doesn’t have an attitude that suits Cowley shithouse football.

But he's done it for his attitude, not his ability. So that all seems mute to me chap

He could be a bullish winger, and if he's a bad egg, he's a bad egg.

Walker, Murray and this lad and if we wanna splash out get a centre mid as well

That’s the official line. Fan appeasement probably wouldn’t go well if they said we’ve hired a manager that doesn’t suit our £8m record signing - so the clubs hung him out to dry.

Just saying that the narrative presented doesn’t always marry up with the actual story.

We do know from his socials that Maddison is a proven dickhead, there’s no narrative from the club there. I would much rather not have a winger who wants huge money (going by him rejecting Charlton offer) who portrays himself as a disruptive influence in the dressing room.

Well time will tell I guess. Let's see how he gets on here if/when he comes.

Lamouchis got a lot from Sammy Shitgood, so he could do the same here.

Maddison is a good example of the over hyped, ridiculously over priced, dressing room bad apples that we should never ever touch with a barge pole.

Diakhaby's the sort of signing I want Forest to do more often.

Clearly identified a weak area in left wing, and clearly identified a set of criteria we specifically want that player to have (pace, dribbling, some height), with proven pedigree in the past and knows what the leagues all about now, with the deal done in a financially astute way.

He's not the blow your socks off signing, but his attributes are a welcome addition and give us more options to push us on. Cautiously optimistic but even if it doesn't work out, it's not the end of the world.

30/09/2021: It's only 8 points to the play-offs. Doesn't matter if we're 20th having lost three times as many games as we've won so far. I fancy us now that Hughton's gone.

    "Overpriced" at 500k-1m?

We usually pay 13 times that for shit THAT's overpriced

This kid on loan is fair enough though. I just hope he's a better loan than Mir, Bostock or Muric.

    Huddersfield Town fan in peace.

Diakhaby wasn't our record signing. That's Terence Kongolo at £17.6M (who has just gone to Fulham on loan).

    Good points:
    He's fast. Very, very fast.
He can dribble past players as though they're not there.
Took a free kick that he nearly scored with once.

    Bad points:
    Cannot shoot,
    Cannot cross,
Cannot pass to a player on his own team.
But most of all, his attitude stinks.

It's true that Cowley is the only manager to have openly frozen Diakhaby out, but this is the 3rd manager he's shown a shitty attitude with at HTFC. If this was simply a matter of a top player thinking he's too good to play at the bottom end of the Championship (which seems to be the case with Kongolo) that's one thing, but he didn't give a crap in the Premier League either.

If you can get him to work on his passing, shooting, crossing and awareness, but most of all instill a sense of professional pride in him then you may have a really good player on your hands. You'll struggle to find a town fan who'd miss him.

Still, he's better than Isaac Mbenza.

It also suggests that the "bad egg" excuse is less valid if the manager is the right manager for the player.
    Too much. And wages.

I can never work out if you're trolling over this.

You constantly bash the club's recruitment then recommend some of the worst players available.

It's obvious that Lamouchi has forged a great team ethic and a sense of togetherness in the squad. Why ruin it by bringing in a disruptive influence like this dickhead?

Claims are Diakhaby has been frozen out his squad for attitude problems. If that's the case, we're doing that anyway.

Maddison was someone I suggested before I knew of the attitude issues. I'd sooner we not bring "bad eggs" here, but in Diakhaby we appear to be doing that, so I was just using Maddison as an example of someone with a better record & who, before the loan was mentioned, would be cheaper too.

So he's got all the bad points of Adomah but he's fast.

Which means we're getting an upgrade.

I assume Lamouchi must have known him when he was at Rennes. So he must think he can get something out of him and nip any ideas of disruptive behaviour in the bud.

He’s not a player I’ve heard of, and it’s not the well known, surefire quality I was hoping for but I’ll give him a chance.

Said a couple of weeks back it's rare these days to get a winger who has the trinity of pace, goals and crossing ability. The thing about pace is it can't be coached, someone is either fast or they aren't, the other aspects can be coached to a certain degree and if the coaching works and something clicks you can end up with a Michail Antonio or an Adama Traore. This lad must have something to move for 8-9m already twice in his career, happy to see him come on loan.

It seems that his attitude is hardly going to be a surprise, so Sabri must have a plan.

Be good if it works out.

On the upside, we've been crying out for pace and in our position, you're not going to get world-class pacy wingers to come to the Championship in January. And I was a Franz Carr fan, so I know a dodgy speed merchant when I see one.

Don't know much about this guy so will have to wait and see if we do get him.
The attitude problem comments are worrying, but I'd have faith in Sabri being able to manage him.
Pace would be useful for our counter attacking style.

Every squad is going to have its “bad apples” a large group of lads in there 20’s and 30’s most squads will have afew. As long as they don’t show it on the pitch I don’t care. weather this guy has the talent and its just not working for him at Huddersfield or if he is just shit is all I care about.

We lack pace....which given the fact we are a counter attacking team is a major flaw...if he's got a bad attitude players like Watson and Dawson will sort him out.

We don't really have time to coach it for this season though do we?

Not saying that his raw pace couldn't help us, it definitely could (bad attitude which 3 managers couldn't curb allowing). But we certainly don't have much time to coach him. He needs to come here & contribute from a very early stage. Or at least someone does.

I'm comfortable and optimistic with this signing. The lad has got pace for days and really offers us that which we've lacked out wide since Antonio or Burke. The French connection here should help him and I'm sure Sabri would have consulted his contacts at Rennes to give him background on attitude and etc.

Cowley is a prick and the way they have been as a side this season with their antics means I won't be taking their opinions on player attitude.
