The NEP are linking us with a potential loan move for Brewster in January.

Not sure on this one 38 games for Sheff U 20 as a sub 18 starts, 1 goal this campaign Vs Carlisle but only played 3 games.

Loan would be the sensible option, but I'd have thought we'd go for a different option to be able to mix it up if needed.

The NEP has simply done what it always does, it has lifted this from elsewhere. It's many years since it had its own information source at the CG.

TBF it was just where I saw it rather than presuming they had inside info.

Fair enough mate. It's just that there are some folk who believe, wrongly of course, that the NP is a credible news outlet.

I can be legitimately described as a hypocrit as I frequently pay its online edition a visit, but I do find it a convenient source of amusement. For instance, it had a feature the other day whereby it was reporting that something would be expiring on (unfortunately, I was unable to take a screenshot of it, but this is genuinely true)......"the 32nd of October"

No doubt their inside info is from people at the club who have codenames like "Emmo", "Ravi" and "Alf-engelos Mindminackers"

(Brewster was being discussed on this very forum yesterday.)

30/09/2021: It's only 8 points to the play-offs. Doesn't matter if we're 20th having lost three times as many games as we've won so far. I fancy us now that Hughton's gone.

I look forward to seeing a quote from "Mr Mindminackers"

Cracking finish that. Utd seem to have him playing out wide when he's better suited up top. Price would still need to be right, certainly hasn't showed £23mil of worth yet but can't see Utd accepting a massive loss on the player.

He really could be that younger Lewis Grabban for us but yeah I agree, I just think financially it is too much out of our reach.

He isn't an out-and-out CF but he has been playing in the 2 up front in a 3-5-2 for Posh ; I wonder what the situation is with Sirki Dembele. Don't think he has signed a new contract yet.

I was watching Brewster quite a lot when we played them and there is just something about him that makes him look like a top player. Nothing in particular, just speed of movement, technique. He had little impact on the game but it does feel like he is not being used right because the raw attributes are there with him.

Unfortunately for his sake the money Sheff Utd spent on him almost destines him to be there until he rediscovers his form - a bit like Carvalho in that regard.

100% - whilst he is playing for them too - I guess he almost definitely is in the picture and they will be working with him too.

It's crazy when you think Sheff Utd have Sharp, Brewster, McBurnie, Mousset, McGoldrick & Burke as forward options and what they paid for them and are where they are.

    I completely forgot about McBurnie.

They recruited so poorly whilst in the Prem. Seems like they just signed every Championship player that had a spell of form.

Brewster apparently told he can leave by Sheff Utd...

Forest loan with option to buy might be perfect.

They bought him for 23.5 million how much do you think they will let him go for? Even burke attracted 8 mill for his last transfer, don't see him moving for less then 15 tbh. Good for a loan but don't see us having the finances to buy unless we offload Johnson and worral

Well he's done absolutely nothing since joining them and they now find themselves a mid table championship club, so I don't think they can expect £15m in the same way we couldn't expect £8m for Carvalho.

Loan with option to buy, structured deal of £4m on purchase and £6m after promotion might do it.

In the (probably unlikely) event that Murphy can get this one done, there's an excellent young striker in there in my opinion, and I trust Cooper to bring it out in him.

I'm pretty certain they'd rather hold onto him than lose 13 million in less that 2 seasons, if we got promoted.

At best it's just a loan and they'll hope that he performs well enough for us to add millions back onto his price tag.
