As posted by BryanRoy in the transfer thread supposedly coming in on loan from Benfica according to O Jogo in Portugal.
21 year old, 6'2, centre midfielder from Guinea-Bissau.
Had a failed loan in Spain at the back end of last season but is regarded as quite a big talent in Portuguese football.

Also linked with Reading, Wigan and Burnley in recent days as well as Olympiacos so one to keep an eye on.

3 apps and a goal in the Champions League last season.
Puts an end to Colback then?
Not got championship experience like Ben Watson, so it's a no from me.
He doesn't have a broken leg, so I don't think he's got the character to be a top player.

More chance of Baron Samedi
That's a weird one. Semedo is supposed to be very talented (his transfermarkt value is more than double Tiago Silva's), but he's still young and inexperienced. I understand the idea of young loanees upfront, where flair, and youthful drive may be useful even if the player is not a starter, but the midfield is another story.
It’s madness it really is, this guy could be the dogs bollocks or he could just be bollocks, I’ve seen people buzzing over that Silva when I’m reality none of us know piss all about him, got a fancy name though.
Top 2 is a shoe in if you sign 11 fancy named guys who are well groomed apparently
So, a new head coach, about whom we know very little, brings in a couple of players about whom we know very little and yet we have pages of comment.
I vote we leave the speculation and wait until we see how we play against WBA, Dirty Bloody Leeds and the rest (including Stoke on a wet and cold rainy night, and Millwall whatever the weather) before deciding we are a world-beating team that's going to walk the Championship like it was a breeze.
Which was a joke. He did a very good job last season.
Only game he suffered in was the 4-3-3 v Villa where the whole team seemed to struggle with roles off the ball.
Going by Dundee only him, Figgy and Lolley played 73 minutes which means he is doing something right again. And you can read into how he looked at players because he has limited time.
Both Tiago and Alfa look to not mind contact too so no luxury players. All for going to this market for the quality of player that is more cost effective.
We could look to get Lewis Baker & Ovie Ejaria on loan from Prem teams with some Champ experience but wonder what their salaries are and do they look to cover the deficiencies of Joao & Tiago in terms of size and aerial competitives that Semedo & Yates can bring ? Not sure.
