Was bad optics for sure but in his defense the car was live/unsafe and Hamilton was trying to reverse so was clearly ok. Verstappen saw this and walked on track to block any potential success, an amazing act of gamesmanship. Hamilton trying to reverse while Verstappen was getting out of his car was also a selfish act. Both showing their true colors, which you have to be to win. It’s awesome, more of this please!

Had a proper look at it and come on, you’re just never gonna get past from that position are you?

    Not from there, no.

He should have backed out, he’d probably have had Hamilton in the next lap on so, or at least had an opportunity with DRS.

But, Verstappen is a hothead, and he was seething about the botched pitstop.

I think he knew he wouldn't. It was then or never and Max thinks people should get out his way but not the ither way round.

The sheer joy of watching Sebastian Vettel hooning around in an Aston-Martin DB5 as part of an AM-007 tie-in for the new Bond movie is maybe the most wholesome thing you’ll see this weekend.

It was basically an advert dressed up as a feature.

    Yawn.

They brought one of the „stunt“ DB5 models to Silverstone and had both AM drivers (and Martin Brundle) messing about in it, with instruction from one of the stuntmen in the new film. Cue lots of drifting and donuts.

All a subtle advert for No Time To Die of course, but it was very entertaining, Seb looked like he was genuinely enjoying himself.

Nothing like a bit of last minute, rain based drama

Oh wow, gutting for Norris. Bad, bad call to not come in. That rain comes 3 laps later he would have done it.

It was a great race even before the rain.

    Gutted for Norris.

Unfortunate for Norris, he overruled his mechanics and that’s cost him a podium, if not a victory.

How the hell has Verstappen finished second?

Bottas didn't look like getting in the points before the rain and ended up fifth! It seems both of them timed the change to wets just right.

Of course whenever someone loses out on these conditions, someone else gets a boost.
Max definitely got lucky with the rain.
Not good for Lewis' championship chances that Max changed his engine and still got second.

    Here’s a stat for you:

The modern Formula One era started in 1950.

Since then, England‘s Lewis Hamilton has won 9.5% of every Grand Prix held.

A lot of running people wide/off track today. Has that always been a thing or am I just noticing it a lot more lately?
