Didn't bother to watch the second half of the Final, but the only thing that made it slightly bearable was hearing that Wes Morgan got to hold up the Cup.

Was it possible to imagine, a few years ago, our Wes as captain of a Premier League and Cup final winning team!?

Things the BBC et al are wanking themselves silky over this morning:
Leicester stopping greedy superleague villains Chelsea winning the cup.

    Thinks they're not talking about:
All the businesses in Leicester who got screwed over for 4% when Leicester went into administration deliberately to retain a squad they couldn't afford, to get promoted.

By "relegation battle", do you mean 7th, 12th or 14th?

It was because it was about 20 years ago.

I’m no fan of Leicester but anyone who stops Chelsea buying another pot has got to be a good thing. What a vile, odious club, probably second only to Liverpool.

Probably for the best, we can’t live in the past forever.

It's how it works at all clubs, I think. We want reasons to dislike each of the other football clubs and then we pin it to them forever. Whether it's directors or fans (we remember players and managers individually I suppose, so their crimes go with them rather than sticking to the club).

We can hate all Newcastle fans forever for a pitch invasion forty-seven years ago even if half the people who ran on a field that day probably aren't even alive now. But our fans can sing Revenge of the Dambusters at Klinsmann or direct paedo chants at Dave Jones after he's cleared his name and it's nothing to do with Forest, just a few tw@ts we're generally better than.

I just dislike Leicester City because there were closest football club to me growing up not based in Nottingham. Which has to be the number one reason football fans have for disliking another club, which is completely rational and stands up to all logic. In the big scheme of things, our favourite teams are based in the same place more-or-less, so they must be knobs.

It appears as though BBC EMT is going to be pretty insufferable as it indulges in PL-winning/Richard III-like coverage over the next couple of weeks.

Yep glad I live in Yorkshire where it’s not been mentioned at all, but then again neither is Forest ever although Chesterfield get a fair mention

„Richard the Third“ is wholly appropriate when discussing Leicester.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

Are East Midlands Today covering Gary Lineker's open top bus parade this week then?

Presumably that's going to be through the streets of Barnes. Can't imagine he goes back to Leicester very often if he can help it.
