For those who have it, is it worth the price?

For me, definitely yes. There is some changes to the original story to flesh it out and so that it makes a bit more sense but they have been done brilliantly imo.

I am 35hrs in and I am absolutely loving it, I love the battle system, you really have to think as there is certain tactics you have to employ to beat certain enemies and it takes some working out whilst trying to stay alive.

Having got me head round the combat system I'm absolutely loving it

The tone and character interactions are just fantastic

Well it's kind of a hybrid of real time action and turn based combat.

Initially I just ended up spamming attack as I couldn't get my head round it but it came with practice

It's different to the system in FFXV

I'm reading more about this playing out differently to the original, so it's not so much a remake as more a retelling. This right mate?

Yeah definitely. It sticks broadly to the original story bht there are a lot of new characters and missions etc

Finished it, absolutely loved it. The story deviates quite a bit but I think as someone who played the original to death that it needed it to keep it fresh. I have that sadness at finishing a game that only comes with ones you have really enjoyed.

Just another decade to wait for the next chapter.

Looks more Witcher like than a FF game.

Looks like a Devil May Cry type game, gone back to the medieval style from the original FF's too. The FF14 team are developing it.

I am still looking forward to it, remember also that this is extremely early development, it wasn't even running on the PS5.

It has intrigued me, I love both series so will have to see what it's like when there is more videos available.

Not sure they can achieve that though mate, which is one of the reasons I wasn't keen on the trailer.

FF was all about colour and vibrant, fantastical settings and high fantasy. The Witcher's all about grounded, earthy low fantasy.

I think the trailer suffers for that Witcher approach. The monsters & summons look fantastical, but the actual characters & world look too grounded. Compare that to say FFX & it's just not Final Fantasy to me
