Genuinely excited about this Nottingham lad, a very astute acquisition if this runs...

If you put him as wing-back on the right in a back 3, it would make 4 of the back 6 (including Smith) are Nottingham lads.

Last time we had such a core of Nottingham lads we finished in the playoffs!

It would be like the good old Nigel Doughty days!

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

Ticks a lot of boxes, don't ever recall seeing him play though. Got a spirite mate who say he's shit hot though. Prem probably a bit of a step too far for him.

Solid signing if it goes through. Strong lad with a good engine.

I still like Mancienne at RB and Lichaj is due to come back, so this gives us great options.

I'm told he scored a shitload at Cotgrave as a kid.

Local, young, hungry & proven at this level. Great signing.

I like the signing and back it, but as a grumble about modern football in general, its beyond me how someone can sign for £500k, play half the games they previously did, yet double in value?

Depends who the selling club isn't it. We sold Bamford to Chelsea for £1.5m and apart from a season at Boro 3 years ago, he's not really played since and he got sold this summer for £6m.

Yeah, but 100% Forest though isn't he?

On the otherhand, Darikwa is as near as we're going to get to a truly local lad. West Bridgford born and bread.

Shame he supports Man U mind!

How can they be moaning that we asked £15M for Britt?? It's the fee that Boro paid so clearly what he's worth in the current market. Muppets.

Wasn't Viv Anderson a Man U fan also as a lad?

Yep, and he was on their books for a bit. To quote the man himself: -

"I was at United from 15 to 16 over school holidays. I remember going to one game, United against Everton, with the manager at the time, Wilf McGuinness, he took me in his car. So obviously he thought a lot of me. But it came to the time when they handed out the apprenticeships and they said, 'We don't think you're going to quite make it at Manchester United'. I went back to Nottingham and got a job as a silk screen printer - I was there for five weeks. Forest asked me to play in their youth team when I was 17, I played once and they said, 'We want to sign you'. I signed and made my debut when I was 17 too."

Just goes to show that sometimes in life when you're at rock bottom the only way is very much up and beyond your wildest expectations!
