I'm taken a back by the amount of not only people but age ranges are playing it. Everyone thought the age of kids sitting in doors wouldn't end, yet this game has brought out families and friends. It's a fantastic concept.

Made a new zealand Apple account about a week or so ago to play it early.

Overall it's super fun searching for pokemon and catching them but fuck.... There's nothing to do in it. Feel like after 5 or so days of playing i've got my fix
and i'll wait until future updates until i play it again.

Missus caught me leaving a bawdy house off the Cowley Road last night. Told her it was a Pokestop.

All of them, seeing as I'm a grown up and still use a few.

    What exactly is "grown up"?

This isn't aimed at you at all, some of the scoffing towards this is laughable. Ever since the game came out in the 90s every person that picked it up wanted to live in the same world as the game.

Is being "grown up" sitting indoors scowling at the kids out front playing pokemon go? Or is it mentioning the family on the table opposite making loud elephant noises and giggling?

Being "grown up" isn't for me, I'll stick to running around the park with my 9 year old sister because there's a pikachu by the swings, I'll stick to rolling on the grass with my lad making stupid noises. I'll forever laugh at a fart, I'll forever enjoy the toy story films. If I decided to be a "grown up" at some point in my years on this planet, what would I enjoy?

    Nothing, probably.

Look, modern life is rubbish, as a Britpop band once sang.

May as well have a laugh whilst you're about it.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

Other mobile game apps have used the exact same concept, to little commercial success. Throw in the popularity of Pokemon though and you're dealing with an entirely different beast.

It's crazy the number of people I've seen playing it. Even a 60-year old professor at work was on it earlier!

My post wasn't serious mate, please don't think I'm mocking anybody.
I don't see the fascination in Pokemon myself but we all like different things.
I'm with you 110% on the not growing up bit, I'll never not think farts are funny.

    :-)

No of course, that's why I said I wasn't aiming it at you.

Interesting theory, especially considering the controversial privacy settings and the creators link to the CIA

I don't play this, but apparently there is something called a Pokestop right outside the chairman of the company I work for's office. On Friday 4 car loads of people drove up the private road where our HQ is playing Pokemon.

The head of IT has been tasked with getting the virtual location removed.

Has anyone taken this back up? I've randomly downloaded it again more for a reason to walk somewhere than anything.

I redownloaded it at the beginning of the first lockdown and it started dominating my walks so deleted it again.
