Don't mention the CG pies in the same breath as balls.

This guy, and their Chief Scout Lorenzo just resigned at Olympiakos, so it looks like they are all on the way here.

Confirmed by Antonis on Twitter. So the big guns are coming over, then.

He just needs to grow a bit of a fringe.

A good ol' 90s French crop would sort him right out.

Fingers crossed they're heading for Nottingham. With the prospect of someone like Vrentzos taking control of things, the club could hopefully start to resemble something like a properly-functioning, professional outfit once again.

If he is to become our new CEO I hope he likes hard work, because he has a lot to fix before starting on the day-to-day work and the new initiatives I hope he is planning.

For point of reference, when was the last time we resembled a properly functioning, professional outfit?

We won 2 European cups as a behind the scenes shambles and we've been run worse than a tombola stall at the village fete for well over, well ever really.

All Fawaz's incompetence has done is make people think we were run properly before he arrived on the scene.

As you say, have we ever?

We were "run" by committee for the glory years, essentially it was Ken Smales who kept the club running on a day to day basis.

Football was a simpler game then though, there was nothing like the money sloshing around there is now.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

Vrentzos wasn't in attendance today, but there was a noticeable distance between Fawaz and his entourage and Pedro Pereira who was sat with (genuinely) a couple of blokes of a definite Mediterranean-looking appearance. Although I was hoping they were EM's 'people', my first thought was agents, but they could've been anyone of course. The three looked very deep in conversation at times, with a lot of pointing towards the pitch going on.

I can't disagree with much of that, but for all of the amateurishness under the committee system, and notwithstanding some questionable chairmen appointments, the club's reputation wasn't so publicly compromised.

Just as one example, there was a point, not so long ago, when if you googled the words 'derisory bid' (from memory) 14 of the first 15 entries featured Nottingham Forest and in only one of those 15 entries was it Forest describing a bid that way. We had a reputation for it.

Fawaz is pretty useless as a chairman, that's not an unreasonable statement, but he's had an element against him (since the moment he took over) who have highlighted every single issue and made them into disasters. And by and large we've swallowed it.

There are a lot of people who really should be questioned as to what their motivation has been for this, because I don't think it has been in a spirit of helping the club.
