Well it's getting to that time of year again and personally I can't wait for the season to start again. I could be in either Nottingham for this or out watching Al-Jazeera in the desert, either way the good feelings for this new season are felt all around. We have some big name teams joining us this year from The Premier League, but we also have to look out for the Up and coming plucky league one sides, one of which I think may surprise us.
The teams we are all familiar with have been adding to their squads (or in the case of Blackpool, completely destroying theirs) New owners have come in, and managers have changed. I have a few dark horses in mind for this years championship, so i thought i'd write a bit of an explanation behind my 'dark horses'.
Bournemouth AFC
@afcbournemouth
Manager: Eddie Howe
Last Season: 10th
We are all aware of AFC Bournemouth after last season, When we played them at the start of the season we both had the best scoring records in the league at that time (Yeah remember that?). They have recently added young highly rated Callum Wilson to their strike force and will be looking to build on last years brilliant Championship season. I think these guys could be dark horses, they have quietly built up their squad and have the capacity to improve more.
Brentford FC
@BrentfordFC
Manager: Mark Warburton
Last Season: 2nd (League 1)
This Brentford Team impressed many critics last year, they have a solid future planned for the club including a new stadium. They have a brilliant catchment area for new fans and their manager is Highly Rated. Two seasons ago they took Chelsea to a forth round replay and have shown time and again they can play alongside the best. Personally I like this team, and i can see them doing really well with the Club Structure and vision they have in place.
Millwall FC
@MillwallFC
Manager: Ian Holloway
Last Season: 19th
I can see Millwall doing much better than expected this year, they have finally sealed the services of a decent manager, Millwall's main issue is that for many games in the season they decide they aren't going to turn up. Ian Holloway will be hoping to stamp this out and produce more consistent football at the Den. They probably won't be looking at promotion this year, but I don't think we will see the usually relegation battle from the Lions.
My Predictions.

Last season our full strength squad hovered around 3rd/4th/5th place before the injury nightmare began. We're gonna to be stronger this year (more experienced Darlow if he stays, Vaughan from the start, better strikers, possibly shit hot new winger etc.). I expect us to compete at the top
Plus Dan Harding could walk into any premiership team! Class above that lad. Pearce could end up learning a thing or two.
Harding the destroyer. He needs to shave his head and grow a goatee
The Enforcer. A man amongst men.
Fulham champions and Wolves to get at least a top 8 finish.
Other than that, who knows.
Awesome name change mate.
I can't help but feel anything less than 8th is another failure. We may improve in that time and the club will be in a better place, but football wise we HAVE to compete in this division. Being nearly men is getting very frustrating.
Norwich to win the league, not sure about the top 6, it's a tight call.
Wigan and Forest to go up auto.
Fulham to win playoffs.
Leeds and Blackpool to go down plus one other.
I think we will have a play off hangover, would be happy with top 8, if we get Thorne and one or two more before the season starts I would be looking at the play offs but we need a couple in I feel, haven't replaced Wisdom and Thorne is key alongside Bryson in the middle.
It will be a hell of a league to get out of next season, I reckon we will both be 1 or 1 places of each other next May.
I think we'll finish top 6, otherwise I wouldn't have renewed my season ticket.
*Point of note: A month ago I thought England were going to win the World Cup, so I may not be the best person to be asking for football related predictions*
I'm saying we'll finish top 6. I won't go crazy and say automatic is minimum, because that just leaves us open to disappointment.
If everyone stays fit, we should be getting top 6 at least and I think fawaz will want at least that. Don't forget we haven't even made the playoffs yet since he took over despite all the investment and I think he'll want to see at least That. I don't think there's anything to really worry about from the teams coming down or up, so we shouldn't fear anybody.
1.fulham 2 Wigan 3.Derby 4.Forest 5.ipswich.6 Wolves
Can't see Norwich doing much not with a poor boss like they have and mick McCarthy will do well at Ipswich....
