    Excellent.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

I also note in the article that the takeover is rumoured to cost £54 million, with a mention of the stadium being included. Surely not the £80 million valued stadium?

They'll probably blame covid for lowering the value of the stadium. I still can't believe they got away the 80 million valuation in the first place.

Anyone would think that they artificially-inflated the value of the stadium for nefarious reasons, or something…?

The deal is said to be costing the 34-year-old around £50m which would take the club out of administration and buy the stadium from previous owner Mel Morris.
It sounds like Pride Park must have depreciated a lot in the last couple of years if £50m would buy te club, pay off their debts AND buy the ground!

Wasn’t the mooted debt somewhere around £30m-plus, all told?

Does that then value Pride Park - formerly worth £80m - at around £20m then? That’s some rapid depreciation, right there.

Poor old Mel Morris hasn’t just taken a haircut there, he’s taken a back, sack and crack as well. With a flamethrower.

I foresee the Derby Christmas appeal being to fund Mel, as he’s obviously going to be skint, throwing away £60m.

    „Feed Old Mel….“
    „Let him know it’s Christmas-time…“
