"Whilst we have a number of options as to how that funding can be delivered, we are not, today, in a position to finalise this funding".

"The difficulty and currently, in our view, the last remaining significant obstacle is to deal with certain claims that are very much disputed but which we are being advised by the EFL cannot be currently compromised notwithstanding statute says otherwise. Whilst we accept this is frustrating for all, none of the interested parties are able to progress matters further until such time that an agreement can be reached".

They have gone through extra time and borrowed time, they are now on final, final borrowed time.

As funny as it is I now might face the daunting prospect of having to tell my son we can't go to forest v derby as there is no derby lol

I would say that all things considered and if every party digs their heels in I think they will be gone.

My concern is the Wycombe and Boro actions, Imagine if a team in the league for some reason felt we had wronged them. Incoming 50m claim, puts us in embargo and in breach of FFP. Less funny then.

Yes,once the precedent of clubs claiming against/suing each other is set,it opens a whole can of worms.

Can someone explain Boro’s claim to me? Im aware of the dispute about Derby acting beyond its financial remit to pinch their targets but not sure how they’ve quantified £45m of compensation?

It's a finger in the air estimate and it's unlikely to stand up under scrutiny, the fact that it meant Boro would have to show they would have won 2 play off legs and then the final alone means the claim is on shaky grounds to say the least.

The Wycombe claim is much more realistic and quantifiable and one I suspect they would have a reasonable chance of winning.

I said pretty much the same yeaterday. For me the fact that Derby repeatedly failed to refile their accounts until it was too late to apply the points last season is the cause of Wycombe's relegation. Had Derby filed them tehy would have been deducted the points and would have been in the First Division at this time.

There is one ponderable though, had the points been deducted from Derby, would the pressure on Wednesday and Rotherham been less and it would have been them that stayed up rather than Wycombe?

I will say, FFP has done a superb job of creating a level playing field & making sure clubs don't overspend/go out of business since it's introduction in 2012.

Surely one of the best things football did.

This I agree with, the Boro claim is spurious at best buy Wycombe do for me have a legitimate complaint. Whether this is the best way to approach it I am not sure but in my mind Boro are just being a bunch of cnuts

Agree entirely with this. Derby dragged their heels with regard to providing financial info last year and perhaps should have had points docked. If I was a wycombe fan I would have been furious with the way they carried on.

Is now a good time for Forest to slap a claim in? Those 2 points dropped at the sheep under Sabri cost us promotion.

    Really disappointing that.

Had hoped Basford United would have been in a higher league by then.

It wouldn't take much to convince any arbitration that the Wycombe claim has every right to be listened to and compensated.

Middlesbrough? Yeh, so many variables. Admins have a choice..admit liability and settle with Wycombe..ie preferred bidder takes the hit.

Or, the club folds if it fails to sell assets. Derby aren't even at preferred bidder stage yet...some are going to need to fall on swords...entet their entire coaching staff to go first.

    Zero sympathy. Cheating bastards
