Looking at the vlog someone on here posted from a Derby supporter, you could actually read the "Derby" picked out on seats at the other end of the ground. Nowhere near 20,000 on that showing.

Edit: Just noticed that pictures were included later in the thread making my post redundant. But showing clearly the 'massive' crowd that assembled.

They're down anyway, we're still in with a chance of top six.
I'd rather see them go down irrespective of the point deduction.

Considering his company has a turnover 1/5th of Derby's & he is apparently a front man for an private equity firm I wouldn't be so happy with him if I was a Derby fan. They often involves cutting costs, selling assets and flipping the company very quickly.

Although they don't have much choice do they.

Not really. The EFL will be ensuring they cut costs, and if they don't get the purcahase over the line before the end of January there won't be much left player wise to sell come the summer will there. As for flipping the company I would im,agine there would be few who would pay more than what he would have to pay if they had to clear the football and tax deaths if the ground stays with Mel.

So they counted 8 thousand season ticket holders who didn't turn up, or just made up a 20k figure as it sounds better?

Jesus, can they be trusted with anything?

When HMRC come looking for 20,003 receipts it might be interesting.

I'm sure that 20,003 sounds better to prospective buyers. Naearly 8,000 makes a big difference if you're calculating future revenue projections.

With so many of their fans having six fingers, Derby County Football Club isn't great at counting.

Times a ticking for the sheep now, we're now in December and they went into administration on the 22nd September.
How long will it be until they have no money at all? These 12k, sorry 20k gates can't paper over the cracks for much longer surely?

496 less than non-league Notts County got the other week.

If the 20,000 figure was because they were counting season ticket holders whether they were there or not, that means 8000 season-ticket holders who had already paid for their tickets couldn’t be arsed going

    Oh FFS.

Whilst there are undoubtedly some season ticket holders that didn't fancy watching Derby lose on a cold Monday night, I find the notion that 8k people who have paid good money for season tickets decided not to turn up a bit far-fetched myself.

Given that Derby have a record of fudging the numbers, its probably Derby getting "creative" with their attendance figures again (though perhaps this time it was a shit attempt to make the club seem more viable to potential buyers rather than cheat FFP).

They would be adding to their own problems if they were fudging attendance figure on the high side. They have to pay VAT on sales, therefore they would be adding to their own VAT bill on sales they haven't made it that were the case. In this case I suspect it really is that amount of people not turning up.

This would be on the administrators head though, remember it's not Derby running the club.
